Les Porter is a full-time professional artist, well-known in his local area for creating high-quality and sought after paintings.

His work covers a wide variety of subject matter, ranging from landscapes, seascapes and water, life drawings, animals, figures and portraits. His work has sold throughout the UK and overseas and has recently appeared in an exclusive exhibition

BIOGRAPHY

I am a self taught artist who became professional approximately 18 years ago. My reputation is continually growing and I have undertaken a num

ber of large commissions for several big companies. I am also becoming internationally known since I have sold paintings in Europe and as far away as as America and Australia. MEDIUMS

There are four main mediums that I usually work in: oil, watercolour, acrylics and pastels. My personal favourite is working with oils. SUBJECTS

Title; Everton, Grimsby Trawler. I have painted this picky in oils on a canvas the size 30''x 20'' I framed it with a gold swept frame it realy looked a classic though I say so my self! Any way wot I did next sent it to be accepted at the Ferens art gallery in their annual open exhibition . Not only was it accepted it was the first painting to be sold on the preview evening ! 2014 gunna b a guden for me I hope

Hi,I am hoping to cope with all this strange and foreign computer stuff but I will get to grips with it . Some might say Welcome to the modern world,I can paint with a cup of tea in one hand and paint brush in the other but Im only able to use one finger to type,
slowly I hasten to add, so I will try to keep up with the modern world .PS that cup of tea has now changed to a glass of grogg

hearted. Monday mornings 10.30am 12.30pm £7.00p per session

Hard Life A poet mate of mine Jim White wrote a smashing poem for this picky it goes; Think of the wife and kids in Grimsby Town. Think of a dram or two in the Rose and Crown.
Think of any thing but being out here. Being wet and cold in weather so severe. Don't think of being cold;chilled to the bone.
Or landing in debt with nowt to take home. But I'm out here because this is what I do
I work on a fishing boat as one of the crew. No use me complaining, it's the life I chose. But how long will I last; Nobody knows.
