Hi everyone. Only one full week left before our reduced work days for Christmas! 🎅🏻🎄

We’ve started giving out our Christmas cards and if you’ve received yours then you’ll already have seen that this year we’ve decided not to do doggie Xmas presents for your pooches. Instead we are going to be making a donation to the wonderful charity Broken Biscuits.

Broken Biscuits charity are the only rescue in the UK that take on people’s paralysed pets with suspected IVDD at the point of crisis when they are either going to be euthanised or need to be rehomed.

We have chosen to do this in memory of Alice’s dog Peppa, who sadly went over the rainbow bridge 3.12.24 🌈
Peppa suddenly lost the use of her legs in July 2022 due to IVDD and the vets bills were huge. Alice and her partner Matt were very lucky to have incredible people in their lives who helped raise money to provide the treatment Pep needed. Sadly not everyone or every dog is this lucky.
Peppa regained the use of her legs and lived very happily for the past 2 and a half years with the aid of her pram and as well as a very snazzy leopard print nappy when she became doubly incontinent.

We will be making a monetary donation to the charity and Alice will also be donating Peppa’s unused doggie wheelchair.

If any of you feel like donating to a worthy cause this Christmas, please do consider Broken Biscuits to give a dog a second chance at life 🩷

Max enjoyed another socialisation/training walk today.
He encountered lots of new things today, such as pigeons, swans, pushchairs. As well as other dogs, groups of people and lots of vehicles.
We encouraged him to say a brief hello to some dogs(with the owner’s permission), some people( who can resist a cute puppy!!) but passing on by with the majority.
We want Max to continue to be a friendly, sociable boy but not for him to expect to go up to every dog or person he meets.
We maintained his engagement with us throughout, with the use of rewards, in the form of treats and praise for eye contact and appropriate behaviours.
One or two things worried him briefly( eg swan)so we moved away and gave him some distance . He soon relaxed, had a treat for being brave😆, then happily walked past.
Max did brilliantly and it’s lovely to see his confidence growing all the time❤️🐾

Lots of evidence of Storm Darragh on todays afternoon group walk.
Lots of climbing and ducking to navigate our way through certain parts! Kevin was very happy with the small trees he carried around 😂 Can you spot Connie on the last photo? 👀

A “mini” training session with Buddy on his sniffari walk this morning.
It’s a good idea to do some training on your dog walks,so that you can work on engagement and recall, whilst your dog is having fun at the same time❤️🐾

Just wanted to say a big thank you for all the kind comments and understanding this week after I had to suddenly say goodbye to my girl Peppa on Tuesday 🌈
It’s really kept me going this week getting to see all these happy faces and having lots of cuddles with all your dogs.

Thank you,
Alice 🩷

Lovely few days staying with Obie again. We’ve had some veeeeery muddy walks (Obie is also a big fan of lying down in all the muddy puddles he comes across 😂) and lots of cuddles! 😍

There’s SNOW better way to spend a wintery day! ❄️ (I’ll stop with the puns now 😂)

Sammy, Pedro & Toby had so much fun on their lunch time group walk today, racing around the woods and fields!

We’ve started to take Bruno out and about to “proof” his training. When your puppy/dog is performing a behaviour well at home,or in the garden, it’s important to then ask them for the required behaviour in different environments, with varied distractions. This is called proofing.
Bruno did brilliantly with his recall training despite the massive distraction of the snow which he absolutely LOVES playing in!!
Every time he came when called, he had one of his favourite treats. This is NOT bribery!
It’s a reward/payment for doing as asked.
Well done Bruno👏❄️🐾

TODAYS WALKS 20.11.24

We are still intending to be out walking today as usual, however it appears the roads / lanes are icy with a fresh layer of snow.

⏰ Please be patient with us, we will be taking our time to safely get your dogs and ourselves around today so we will likely be running behind.

❄️ If you’re home from work today due to the weather and do not need our services, please let us know as soon as you can!
