🐾🩺Alfie’s story🩺🐾
🏥Alfie first came in to us showing signs of diabetes mellitus, excessive drinking, urination and lethargy. After urine samples & blood tests Alfie was diagnosed with Diabetes.
However Alfie’s story was not straight forward, he started on insulin injections to control his hyperglycaemia and had glucose curves to monitor this.
Alfie’s levels were proving difficult to control so further testing was needed to ensure nothing else underlying was going on.
Alfie was referred to a specialist and now his blood glucose levels are under control. Through all of Alfie’s treatments he still came in with a waggy tail and wanted to give everyone lots of kisses and love🏥
💉Diabetes happens when the pancreas stops producing insulin, so the body can no longer control the blood sugar levels. Symptoms include excessive drinking and urination, weight loss, lethargy and chronic or re-occurring infections (urinary tract infections). Although diabetes is a life long condition it is treatable and the patient can still live a long and happy life.💉
