The aim of competing in a conformation show is to evaluate how well a dog conforms to its breed standard, which is a written description of the ideal characteristics, appearance, and temperament for each breed. Judges assess the dogs based on these standards, looking at their physical attributes, movement, and overall structure to determine how closely they align with the ideal breed type.

The purpose of these competitions is to identify dogs that are best suited for breeding, ensuring the preservation and improvement of the breed. By recognising dogs that most closely match the breed standard, breeders can make informed decisions about which dogs to breed, ultimately promoting the health, quality, and integrity of the breed over time.

Reaching the Grand Champion titles takes a lot of commitment and we would like to congratulate our 4 crowned Grand Champions!

Judge Naomi Van Mourik chose this exceptional Pocket Bully called Silvabull's Notorious aka Biggie as her Best in Show!

Naomi said “A great example of a Pocket Bully, but not overdone. The dog has an excellent headpiece with well-muscled cheeks and a broad skull. The eyes are good, and the ears are set correctly. It has a compact, strong body with a beautifully arched neck and a strong topline. The front is excellent, with a wide chest and straight front legs. The dog has very good angulation and is well-muscled. It moves very well, with strength and power. The tail is set and carried properly. Overall, the dog is in excellent condition."

Fran said “Good specimen in general lines, firm and apparent musculature, short and thick shoulder and arm, ears with good implantation as well as its eyes separated but not excessively, good symmetry both in front and in length of back making a nice and parallel movement, short and proportioned neck without folds, short hair suitable for the breed”

Congratulation to all who are involved in Valentino’s success.

Judge Naomi Van Mourik’s Best in Show winner in the Bulldog Varieties was this incredible Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog called Dak’s Black Widow aka Ruby.

Naomi said “This is a true example of an Alapaha Bulldog! It has a beautiful headpiece with a strong muzzle and underjaw, close lips, and good teeth. The dog has dark eyes and a well-set pair of ears. The neck is strong with a nice arch, and the topline is excellent. The silhouette of the dog is striking, with strong legs, straight feet, and excellent angulation from behind. The tailset and carriage are also commendable. This dog moves like a dream—powerful and strong, yet gliding through the ring. The dog was in excellent condition and has a very friendly temperament."

Congratulations to everyone involved in Ruby’s success.

The UKBKC’s Royal Bully Showdown was a blast we had an excellent weekend with the UKBKC family.

The star of the show was this exceptional Standard Bully called Cole.

Cole won two Best in Show titles judged by Joyce Coumans and Ruben Silva and went on to win the Best of the Best title.

Congratulations to all involved in Cole’s success.

Judge Joyce Coumans said “Cole is a wonderfull representation of the breed. His large head combined with his strong body makes him stand out. His front is nice and square, the forelegs are thick and straight and his shoulders are wide and muscular, this all makes him impressive to look at. His head is large with a great deep stop, well rounded cheeks and a broad muzzle. His body is well proportionate and strong, giving the impression of a powerfull and strong dog. Cole has a lovely temperament, he loves to show himself off in the ring and all this makes him a great asset to the bully breed.”

30/07/2024

The UKBKC has noticed an increased number of Fluffy French Bulldogs participating in recent shows and competing in our Any Variety Classes. We look forward to seeing you in August. If the number of entries continues to rise at the next event, we will consider adding Breed Specific Classes.

The UKBKC's policy on adding breed specific classes involves two main reasons for having our "Any Variety Classes." Firstly, these classes provide additional opportunities for competition, as we understand that show days can be long. By strategically placing these classes, we allow members to showcase their dogs.

Secondly, these classes offer breeds with smaller numbers the opportunity to promote and grow their presence. This increase in numbers may eventually lead to the addition of breed specific classes.

It should be noted that some of our venues can only accommodate two rings, which limits the number of classes we can offer.

We welcome all breeds to enjoy and compete at our events. However, it is up to each community to assist in promoting the events and helping to bring in the numbers required to justify adding breed specific classes!

We look forward to seeing everyone on the 10th & 11th August.

About Me:
My name is Joyce Coumans and I've started my kennel Mosea Bully Kennel in 2016 with our first American Bully (XL) Dual Champion Jax. Jax was the first XL Tri ABKC Champion in Europe, trained and showed by me. From that moment on we (bred and) champed out multiple (dual) champions within our kennel. Bull breeds always have been and will be my passion, starting off at a young age with a Staffy/Sharpei mix who I trained with on a high level, switching over to French Bulldogs and eventually after a few years of looking for the right dog and a lot of research getting our first American Bully.

Our focus within our breeding program is to produce complete, clean, functional and most of all healthy American Bullies. As many will know, I am a big supporter of testing breeding stock, we try to test as much as possible and can proudly say we have some of the most tested dogs out there. We breed to get better dogs with every generation and focus on show type American Bullies (preferably the XL variety). I'm obedience training with dogs since the age of 14 and been also teaching others as a trainer at a dog school. Besides that I'm also showing and campagning dogs for other breeders and bully owners at multiple registries, with the goal of getting them their well deserved titles. I've won multiple BIS, BOB, Champion classes and many other prices during my carreer and am always willing to learn and grow to achieve bigger goals.

If someone, especially people who ask me to show their dogs, comes to my for my opinion on their dog, then they get my unvarnished and honest opinion, in the hope that they can do something with this, grow and achieve their goals. I am straightforward, but you immediately know what to expect from me when you ask my opinion.
