Bunny strutting her stuff without a saddle too. I have the same trust in her as I do Dancer. She looks after me the same way he does. She always wants to do her very best for me, as he does too. Thoroughbreds are the best!!!!

VIOLET LOVE - has been declared for her first listed race at Newbury on Friday - she will be in good company with 13 other fillies and a prize of £25,520 for the winner.
I had the absolute pleasure of saying hello in the winners enclosure back in July at Ripon - (she is one of my absolute favs). Her siblings are doing really well too!
Coco Starlight - 4 year old currently looking a new home Yorkshire racehorse retraining & rehoming
Bunny - 3 year old - being retrained in a different career with A.W. Equi-Teach and has visits to Thorpe Farm Rehab and Fitness
Arley - yearling - will go to be broken in soon and is currently enjoying sunshine in the paddocks of Ashbrooke Stud with his pals
As a small breeding operation/ racing syndicate we couldn't exist without these amazing people helping us everyday.

Wow!!! Toni is becoming a great confident rider!!!

Hats off to you Toni. We may have our wobbles together but we always get through them together. I know I am tough on you sometimes but I am always grateful for you digging deep and trusting me (with your life it seems)

Cleo isn’t the easiest ride when you are used to a very tiny pony who doesn’t want to go anywhere. She is much bigger, stronger and a forward ride. Yesterday you absolutely bossed it. Well done!!!!!!!

Signing off for the week………

But before I do let me leave you here with these two young ladies, just starting out with their young horses on a path leading into the great world of eventing……

Both ponies have fantastic potential and their riders have great courage. These horses are only 5 and will continue their education more on the flat to improve their skills, the young riders will probably disagree with me that jumping is like dressage with jumps. But with so much to improve on the flat for the horses way of going (and to prevent future strains) both riders are going to have to work hard. But that’s all part of the fun right……….no pain no gain……

With potential and willingness like these two special ponies have there is no room for cutting corners (literally) 😅

This fantastic course is available to hire at Gatherley Equestrian. Just off Catterick racecourse. It’s perfect for training.

I am happy to travel here to teach with it been just off the motorway and easy accessible. So if you want to book a training session please just give me a call or a message. Always happy to help.

Bunny went on her first outing today. A nice walk around a pleasure ride and lots of splashing through the water.

I was super excited about taking her in the water as I absolutely love it. And I knew she would too.

Bunny remained calm and sensible throughout the experience which is brilliant considering there was several other horses cantering off in front!!! She was focused and listened to everything that was asked of her. She massively excelled herself and didn’t put a hoof wrong all day. Bless you bunny. You are the best natured horse 🐴 Let's Get Racing Club

Bunny wearing her new magnetic boots for the first time last week.

Magnetic boots for horses are said to have many benefits, including: Improved circulation, reduced inflammation, muscle recovery and help ease stiffness and joint pain.

They can also have a relaxing effect, which will be very helpful to Bunny after her workout - she also looks super gorgeous in them with her matching rug (what a show off you are Bunny!)

I am feeling very proud.

I am proud of Cleo for looking after Toni, and I am very proud of Toni for taking the next step up in her ridden career.

When I first met Toni she was on the lead rein and extremely nervous, there were lots of tears and absolutely no confidence at all. But here we are!!!! Toni now rides with no saddle in the canter and has started jumping.

Toni is taller than me (not difficult) and needing to step up on to a bigger horse soon. Cleo is 15.1. So a big step up from her current ride. We took it slow and steady: and I was by her side every step of the way. We concluded with Toni having a few steps of trot on Cleo all by herself. Well done Toni.

So much achieved in your first lesson on Cleo.

We will have you ready in no time Toni. Cleo and I will take great pleasure in helping you along the way 🥰

Super Maddison teaching her new pony how to jump….. I think they have sprouted wings…., dressage pony turned show jumper. A new green combination with lots of potential. Definitely ones too watch out for in the near future 🤩

Pony of the day number 2. Polly Pockets 💞

Well after blasting Dancer at last weekends Hunter trial I didn’t want to have undone all my hard Work an effort keeping him nice and steady. Fortunately it didn’t. Nice little school round this afternoon. We had a blip at the ditch and I fell off. Which isn’t like him and it totally caught me off guard. But I am actually happy because if I had sat up it wouldn’t of happened. so it has made me up my game and learn from casual approach. WHat a great place to school.

This is just a snippet of the open. Wow he was on fire.

Our first hack together. She’s just brilliant.

Body language….. means everything.

Windy and raining. Completely new arena…. Dancer and polly were brilliant.

This young lady has progressed massively in the very few months We have worked together. Ella has been riding less than a year. When we first started ella had navigation problems. Her pony napped, spun round, shot of across the arena. Reared. Wouldn’t accept a bit. He was a little bit of a nightmare for her. Ella had lost confidence. We have worked hard together over the last few months. We have helped Her pony understand how fun work really is. We have built his confidence as well as Ella’s. And in such a short space of time we have successfully conquered confidence with a 10/10. Below is a video of Ella riding with no saddle or stirrups in terrible weather. Walk trot and canter. Ella has a fantastic seat with brilliant balance. They have even jumped up to 65cm. Albeit her pony jumps them all over 85. No scope no hope. It’s so rewarding to see riders at their very worst. Upset with no confidence…. And then to see them smiling from ear to ear with such an understanding of their horse.. the partnership and trust that has formed ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Today we have worked without saddles. We have used todays sessions to improve rider strength in the core and leg muscles, also to help the riders balance without using their stirrups. Riding without a saddle keeping within your own personal capabilities is also very good for confidence, which I am really proud to say that all my riders today have massively progressed with confidence and rode fearlessly today. Well done everyone. This is just a short clip of Eloise. We had lots of canter work too. It wasn’t that long ago when Eloise had lost her confidence and her pony had too. We have turned a corner and have never looked back. Well done guys ###xx

Abbey you are beautiful.

Super happy with abbey yesterday. She recently came from Ireland. 8 years old, unbroken and very nervous. We soon gained her trust and backed her quite easily at her new home. However she proved very nervous and reacted quite dangerously to traffic. For weeks we have done loads of ground work and really taken our time and patience working abbey to build her confidence. And yesterday we achieved this!!!! Wagons, trailers, buses etc. that’s it no stopping her now.
