Biggs the beautiful bully is having a brilliant time boarding! 🐶🤎🍃🐾

No muzzle is required while he’s here at our kennels as all dogs have their own kennel and outdoor run, and are exercised in our large paddocks individually.

As required by law, we ask for your third-party insurance and certificate of exemption to be able to board your XL bullies but we don’t discriminate based on breed. 📝✔️

It’s always exciting when we get a new delivery of doggy toys for our boarders! They’re more than just fun - good quality dog toys offer enrichment, stimulation and entertainment, and can help with feelings of stress or anxiety. We regularly check all toys for safety and signs of wear, and refresh them frequently.

If your dog has a special toy that they love, you’re welcome to bring it along for their stay with us. 🏠

Our brilliant kennels team member, Lauren Goddard, handled her dog Winston at the World Dog Show in Switzerland last year, and won the award for Best Junior Handler in the World! 🌍

She is the first English handler to win the award in 25 years and, because of this, has been nominated for Best Junior Handler in 2024 at the Pawscars in March.

A BRAND NEW GROOMING SALON IS OPEN IN ALBOURNE!

You already know us as a long-established boarding kennels where your dogs will be safe and happy, but we are delighted to announce that from 5th February 2024, we will also be opening Leander Groom Room for everyone!

Does your furry friend need regular grooms to keep them looking their best, or do you just want to book a special one-off pamper for your dog? We’d love to be of service, and will be open to all, regardless of whether your dog boards with us.

Joining our team is qualified dog groomer Elisa, who has been running her own successful grooming business in Shoreham and is now bringing her expertise and experience to Leander. As we begin this new adventure together, Elisa says –

💬 Having grown up with dogs my whole life, after having my children, I finally made the jump to pursue a career I have always been interested in. Training with Southcoast Dog Grooming Academy, I gained my OCN London Accredited Level 3 Professional Dog Groomer qualification and completed canine first aid training.

A positive and happy experience for your dog is of the utmost importance to me whatever service they have, and I can assure you they are in loving hands and treated like one of my own. I offer a clean, safe and calm environment for your dog to visit.

Each dog; small, large, smooth, shaggy, puppy, senior, nervous or chilled, all have their own special requirements. Working one-to-one allows me to really get to know your dog and helps build a trusting relationship with them.

Your dog’s comfort and happiness is at the forefront of my work ethic and I strongly believe that comfort must always come before vanity.

I hope to be a part of your dog’s life now and always, and I can’t wait to join the fantastic team at Leander Kennels! 💬

XL BULLY RULES ARE IN FORCE - Information for owners of XL bully breeds regarding boarding your dog at our kennels.

• We will not discriminate based on breed, and will continue to assess every dog’s suitability for boarding on an individual basis, as we always have done.

• You must hold Third Party Public Liability Insurance as required by the new rules and provide details of your policy for our records before boarding.

• You must have a Certificate of Exemption as required by the new rules and provide a copy for our records.

• Your dog must be muzzled at the gate on arrival, and we will keep hold of it to muzzle again when you come to collect.

Only a week to go! A reminder of our opening times for dropping off and collecting your dogs over the Christmas holidays.

The office will be closed, as usual, on weekends and bank holidays, but open on normal weekdays between 9:00am and 5:30pm. We may not be able to send updates as quickly as normal due to being so busy looking after all our guests, and ask that you bear with us and only contact us if absolutely necessary over Christmas.
