At Top Paws, the welfare of your dog is of the utmost importance. That's why we’ve been awarded a licence by our local council, following a thorough application process. We also ensure that our knowledge and skills are continually updated through accredited courses from reputable providers, audited by Ofqual. This allows us to understand not only how to engage with your dog based on their breed, but also how to interpret their body language and provide tailored mental and physical stimulation. We know that not every dog behaves according to their breed’s typical traits.

As solo boarders, we care for one dog at a time in our home, with no other pets or children around. This means your dog will receive our full, undivided attention. Whether it’s through mental challenges, outdoor adventures (from forests and parks to lakes and town walks), or simply cuddling on the sofa, your dog will never have a dull moment in our care.

We are now accepting bookings from October 2024 to Dec 2025 so to avoid disappointment book early.

We offer an around the clock home care service for your dog. Your dog receives lots of affection and a variety of mental and physical stimulation throughout the day. We also send you daily updates to show you what your dog has been doing for each day of the duration of their stay.

Prior to accepting your booking we offer a free meet and greet service and paid overnight trial to ensure your dog will get on in our environment without you. Our priority is your dogs welfare and sadly not all dogs are suited to all environments therefore we will only confirm your booking if the meet and greet and overnight trial are successful.

Proof of vaccinations are required prior to the boarding of any dog to reduce the risk of spread of disease or infection.

We cater for a variety of different dog needs so if you're unsure just call us or send us a message via WhatsApp and we'd be more than happy to help.

As solo boarders who board one dog at a time or two from the same house, your dog never leaves our sight. We offer a one to one home care service for all our guests. Providing plenty of physical and mental enrichment. Our guests are allowed on the sofa, engage in games with us, receive care around the clock as well as plenty of hugs and affection as required.

We understand and appreciate the apprehension some of our clients may have in leaving their dog with a stranger. We have experience working with a large variety of breeds rescues , reactive, nervous or timid dogs.

That's why we at Top Paws became licenced to ensure we adhere with Government regulations and have spot checks from the council to ensure we provide quality care consistently.

We also ensure we keep our clients up to date with how their dog(s) are getting along to help reassure them, they're dog(s) are good safe hands.

Here's the lovely Tessa 💜 again. Another one of our favourites.

Tessa's ability to absorb new behaviours was truly empowering for us. Her desire to learn made teaching an absolute joy, her ability to learn so quickly was impressive. She was pushing us for more knowledge just like a sponge. So soft , gentle, loving and affectionate. Her appetite to please was heartwarming for us too.

Previously I thought some dogs were so smart they were stubborn until a trainer asked me "do you honestly believe a dog knows what you're asking, can see that tasty treat in your hand but decides not to do what you're asking?" 😀

I took this on board the next time this thought occured to me and I was mesmerised at the improvement in my relationship with that dog.

This is lovely Lupo, another of our favourite Labradors who has a gorgeous coat and is full of love and affection.

Lupo was a puppy when he arrived and we had many adventures. Despite being a puppy his father did and continues to do a fabulous job training him. Lupo is one of the most zen dogs we have ever boarded. H

We miss his hugs, cuddles and playing fetch with him.

We're counting the hours until we see Lupo again. Those ears melt our hearts 💞 🥰

Taking time to build a relationship with your dog pays back 1000 times, everytime.

Listening to understand is an integral part of building a successful relationship.

Often just watching the way your dog plays with their toys, how they interact within different environments and with other dogs. As well as how they respond to other humans enables one to build a relationship based on understanding. To really see were their dog is at in their development rather than were one expects they needs to be. The difference is often having a happy dog or one that is misunderstood due to a lack of relationship and understanding.

Here's Ozzy having a snooze 😴😴😴 we thought of him earlier whilst out in and spotted a .

We enjoy playing hide and seek with Ozzy , so far he has a 100% retrieval rate especially in the dark.

We miss Ozzy loads and look forward to having him stay again, again and again.

Tessa was a bundle of joy, a Staffy cross Rhodesian Ridgeback who was full of affection, play and loved playing fetch. We used her favourite ball to increase the duration of her Stay cue as she was a keen learner too.
