Enjoying the £25 loose lead workshops! Good progress in an hour and the owners left knowing what to practise, and how to practise it 🦮 I am still running this offer, so get in touch to book!
Another shaping video, as always you only need a clicker (you can use verbal markers like "yes" or "good" rather than a clicker), some high value treats and a rough idea of what behaviour you are going to reward. In this case I wanted Ralph to sit on the chair!
The key to this is small increments, don't ask for the full behaviour at once, sometimes the dog just looks at the object you want them to interact with and you build from there.
Have fun with it!

Shaping, a great way to get your dog using their brain. I also like it for teaching a "go to place" cue as you can insert a verbal cue when your dog has the behaviour nailed.
1 - charge your clicker, ask for sits, click and reward, nice and easy
2- Have an idea of what you want your dog to do
3- Play a Hotter Colder game, stay quiet and every time your dog looks at, moves closer to or interacts with the object you want him to click and reward
4 - Keep it fun, keep it easy, your dog should be winning A LOT don't set the criteria too high or they will get frustrated or just sack it off all together!
Before and after a 1 hour loose lead session, more practise to go but a great start!
