BRILLIANT CUSTOMER TIP!

This is a big thank you to one of our card carrying members who photographed her card... and used the photo as a screensaver on her phone! Genius!!! Why didn't we think of this? :)

Bonus tip: photograph the reverse of your card, so your PIC is not visible to a casual observer, but a first responder can scan the QR code directly from your screen. We tried it... and it works a treat! :)

*We need your help!*

After a very successful test run throughout December, with no major software bugs to speak of, MyAlerts! is now poised for its national media launch. https://myalerts.uk

However, we need a photographer to join our all-volunteer team, and take some imaginative press photos!

As you know by now, we designed MyAlerts! to be available for just a penny a day… so we don't have the luxury of a marketing budget.

Although we can't afford to pay for the photo's we will, of course, credit the photographer in all publications.

We are now a full week into the 'soft launch' of MyAlerts! and, touch wood, no fatal flaws have been revealed in the software! *Whew*

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to provide their invaluable feedback... as a result of which we will be adding three new features;
1: The provision to add the date of the latest Covid 'booster' jab
2: A section for carers, to draw attention to the needs of a dependent relative or friend.
3: A final 'general notes' section... for anything else we might have missed!

We hope that these improvements will be in place mid-week.

Because we do not hold ANY personal or contact information on MyAlerts! Members, we've created a Facebook Group that will allow us to keep in touch with one another. . . anonymously and securely.

For example; when we add new features, they will be announced in the group, so that you can log-in to update your public alerts page and take advantage of the improvements!

Once a month we will publish a newsletter with answers to the most often asked questions received by our Support Team volunteers.

Anyone can join the Group and post, but please allow a little time for one of our Group Admins to check that your post does not breach our very simple rules! :)

If you live on a canal boat, in a static caravan or motorhome, staying registered with a doctor's surgery can be difficult... so carry your critical medical information with you at all times with MyAlerts!

A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER!

Being a certified wrinkly, and riddled with underlying health conditions (ominously referred to in these pandemic times as 'co-morbidities'!), I've been spending my time since retirement developing a unique solution.

In the event that I were to suffer a medical emergency or accident, I designed an on-line mechanism that would give first responders instant access to my critical medical information… whilst maintaining my anonymity and security.

As you may already know, I have three rescue dogs who would be left at home alone if I became incapacitated in some way. Given that none of them have yet learned how to operate a tin opener with paws, I also included the facility for a trusted person to be notified.

Although originally intended just for my own use, so many people expressed an interest that we have now launching MyAlerts! as a not-for-profit project, manned entirely by volunteers, and available to anyone at https://myalerts.uk

Proof read the site at https://myalerts.uk. Fresh eyes will spot the odd typo, and we'd really welcome any suggestions for features we could add!

Consider this; the chance of winning the Lotto is 45 million to 1, and scooping the EuroMillions Jackpot is a 140 million to 1 shot… but someone guessing your PIC is an astronomical 1,600 million to one!

The fact that we don't collect any personally identifiable or contact information also means that we are not a target for hackers! Think about it for a moment, what's the point?

In the wildly unlikely event that a deep state hacking group manage to hit upon an active PIC, all they know is that someone, somewhere, has arthritis, is deaf in one ear and allergic to penicillin… but they can't know who! LOL :D

However, we are firm believers in the belt and bracers principle. If you think that your password has been compromised, or you have your MyAlerts! card stolen, call Support on 01646 636 311 and we'll turn off your Public Alerts page immediately.

We'll then send you a brand new Registration pack, with a new PIC, completely free of charge!
