Don't forget to come and see us tomorrow at our hospitality stand at Wensleydale Agricultural Show . We're in our usual spot between the sheep and cattle. We have had to use last year's photo as we've had a few problems setting up in the wind but don't worry all will be up and ready to go in the morning.

Since today is international cat day we thought we could feature our surgery cat Todd. I'm sure many have you have seen him about at our Askrigg branch. He was handed over to us when he was 8 weeks old and he had a broken leg that we fixed and he has never looked back. The short tail was due to him damaging it in a fire door and is having to amputate it. He likes to do meet and great and is fearless around dogs.

This is Maddie, she recently had to undergo surgery after showing UTI symptoms and after our investigations we found she had bladder stones which we removed. She's recovering well

Our job can sometimes be challenging but it's always lovely when we get to meet new patients like this puppy who came to meet us for its primary vaccination course recently

We have one bottle of CEVAC enzootic abortion vaccine (50 doses) available . This does go out of date shortly but there will no more enzootic abortion vaccine available until at least September due to manufacturing problems causing a national shortage. Would you like to join our team ? We have an exciting opportunity to join us at our Askrigg branch as a part time receptionist The role involves telephone answering, dispensing medicines, basic admin work and liaising between clients and vets.

The days are Monday and Tuesday 8:30am-6pm and alternative Saturday mornings 8:30am-12. Flexibility for holiday cover would also be needed. A polite, calm telephone manner is essential as well as IT and organisation skills.

We are having a worrying number of sheep attacks by dogs reported to us. Just this morning one of our clients had a young lamb attacked and killed by dogs. Please keep dogs on a lead around sheep. This lambing time has been hard enough without extra losses
