Wednesdayโs fun and adventures on the group and solo walks ๐พ๐ถ๐ธ๐ฅ๐๐ฅฐ
It may of been a wet one on Friday, but the pups had lots of fun in the cooler weather. The rain also brings out lots of awesome smells which got their noses working ๐๐๐พ
Back doing what I love, and with the warm weather, what better place to take the pups then into nature sniffari. The Woods offer a wonderment of different smells, textures fun and adventure for them to explore, add some tasty treats to forage, the dogs are only having that physical enrichment, but it is also mentally stimulating for them too. Releasing all those happy hormones, creating optimism and boosting confidence ๐พ๐
Captured moments from the walks yesterday ๐ฅฐ๐๐ถ The pups running through the buttercups, which looked like mini suns with the grey skies, lots fun and focus, with recall work, name game, the shadow game and working those noses with scavenger hunts, releasing all these feel good, happy hormones ๐ฅณ๐พ๐
Along with recall work, we also worked on loose lead, sitting with I come to a stop, and go for when we were ready to walk on.
All the training started off in Lochieโs home.
We built up value on my right side, so he knew where he needed to be, we then slowly upped the criteria, with the ds, distractions, duration, and distance.
What a brilliant walk this was with Lochie ๐๐ป๐พ๐ฅณ๐
1-2-1 recall work with Lochie yesterday! Building up value on myself to be the most exciting thing in his environment! He done amazing and lots of praise and rewards for his voluntary check ins too ๐๐ป๐ฅณ๐พ๐
Auntie Lula being amazing with puppy Lochie. It was their first time meeting yesterday. Beautiful body language through out, giving Lochie the confidence to run and play with her ๐พ๐
Lochie showing of his recall skills with high distractions and a new environment ๐ฅณ๐พ๐
Finishing off the day with a training session with Barbra and her 2 Frenchies, Dolly and Harley.
Both the pups pulled on the lead, which can make walking quite difficult.
Aim is to be able to walk Dolly and Harley on a loose lead when out, making the walk enjoyable for both owner and dogs.
Weโve been working on loose lead with both the dogs separately, building on focus, working on engage and disengage and tasks which helps teach the dog where to walk and what side to be on. All this has been achieved force free, with positive reinforcement ๐
Today was the day we took the plunge and walked them both together.
We allowed time for the dogs to adjust to being together, as up until now, Barbra has been walking and training them separately. Which allowed us to focus on one dog at a time and makes the training sessions more manageable.
And this was the result ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ
Hard work pays off, Barbra has been amazing throughout and has worked hard with both of them, weโve still got a little way to go but weโve got the foundations there!
Iโm absolutely buzzing with my training walk with Coco. Starting with loose lead training to the field. Then once at the field, creating a scavenger hunt around me and creating focus, before I let her off the lead!
Making sure to reward the voluntary check ins, working on our here and away recall cues, and enjoying sniffing out those yummy treats.
Coco done amazing and Iโm super proud of her. Look at her go ๐ฅฐ๐๐พ
Amazing loose lead work with Coco, when I stop she goes into a sit with no cue. Marking and rewarding along the way.
Lovely loose lead and focus through out ๐ฅฐ๐พ๐
Who doesnโt love a scavenger hunt to work those noses on a walk ๐ฅฐ๐พ๐
Loose lead training walk with Coco on Saturday. Also working on engage and disengage from a stimulus. Lots of praise and reward for this amazing little lady who done so well through out ๐พ๐
When you get that morning Zoom ๐๐พ๐

This is from Saturdays loose lead training session with Vee and Coco.
After all the in house training learning the tools to aid in setting the foundations of the loose lead work to then onto the drive, It was time to take Coco out on a version of her regular walk.
Putting to use all tools that Vee and Coco have learnt together, having patience and consistency and learning what to look out for, this was the result ๐ฅณ
Super proud of you both, and canโt wait for our next training session in the new year ๐พ๐
Finishing off my day walking my favourite Dalmatian Lottie.
Love how she remembers our loose lead work ๐ฅฐ๐๐พ
Let me introduce you to Coco and her Owner Vee ๐For the last 4 weeks weโve been working on our loose lead training within the home setting.
Today was the first time we took Coco outside to practice her figure of 8, to change the criteria by adding distractions and change of environment.
This exercise has been proofed in the home by Vee her amazing owner who has worked so hard with her.
There were lots of distractions, with snow, (which Coco hasnโt seen before) traffic, people walking past, and people walking their dogs.
Coco kept her focus on Vee, when she had a sniff, Vee waited for Coco to regain focus before continuing the exercise again.
Vee was able to notice when Coco had had enough and finished the exercise, and was brought into the home and finished off with some work on some focus fun with Coco
Super proud of you both ๐พ๐
