From September 2nd we have a Monday space available for a puppy or small/medium dog to join our 30 minute secure field fun, social groups 2.15pm-2.45pm. This is due to the current young dog moving up to a 60 min group 😀 Collection and drop off either side of the walk time. £11.50. Please pm us for more information 😁

It's a sad goodbye to these beautiful boys who are moving to Spain. We have absolutely loved looking after you both over the last few years and will miss you both! Have a safe journey and a very happy future in the sun!

Devoted Dogs have a very exciting job opportunity for a dog walker to join our knowledgeable and supportive team in Mid Sussex.

A passion for dogs and the highest standards of care are essential, full training will be provided although you will be required to complete a canine first aid course independently (can be online).

You will be responsible for social walks held in a secure field for up to 6 dogs varying from puppy groups to adult groups and also private individual walks, so you must be capable and confident handling multiple dogs.

The job involves pick up and drop off in and around Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, Lindfield and Ardingly so a driving license and fully crated van is required for the role (6 individual crates - we can help with crates).

This is a full time roll Monday-Friday.

Mon 9.15am-3.30pm (6hr 15m)

Tues 8.15am-5.15pm (9hr)

Wends 8.15am-5pm (8hr 45m)

Thurs 9.30am-3.30pm (6hr)

Fri 8.15am-3.30pm (7hr 15m)

37hrs 15mins per week.

No weekends or bank holidays.

Average £650-£750 per week. (£20 per hour). Paid directly into your bank account every Friday.

You are paid per dog rather than an hourly rate so if you are busy and working hard you earn more, if you are quiet and working less you earn slightly less, I feel this is fairer and more generous financially (£10 per dog on 60 min socials, £7 per dog on 30min socials, £15 for 1 hour private walks, £10 for 30 min private walks).

Own van ESSENTIAL.

You will be self employed and therefore responsible for your own tax, national insurance and personal insurances such as vehicle cover.

and the cutest little tooshie award goes to... 🥰🥰

Who else's dog looses their brain over squirrels?! Getting super frustrated on lead? Barking? Lunging? Desperately wanting to chase? Believe it or not Marjorie was the same, we have been working through Predatory Substitute Training with her, this is all done through positive reinforcement and allowing the dogs to practice safe parts of their predatory sequence and rewarding disengagement. So now Marje can calmly watch squirrels which is super reinforcing for her, and disengage voluntarily 👌🤩

We met Arlo a couple of weeks ago for a behaviour consultation as his owners were really struggling with his on lead reactivety around dogs, this presented itself as growling, barking and lunging towards dogs he saw. I saw him again for a follow up training walk and I can tell just how hard his owners have been working on the plan we put in place, what a significant difference in such a short period of time! 🥰

So proud of this boy getting calmer and calmer with close proximity passings! Confidence building - relaxation increasing 😍

Massively proud of big sensitive boy Harri for how he coped with this unknown dog approaching him to say hello and how he was able to greet calmly without panicking and then disengaged 🙌 super brave boy 🥰

Rio's owner had been struggling with his behaviour of barking and biting when sweeping, hoovering and mowing. At the end of our session, Rio was able to calmly and quietly settle on his mat whilst his owner was sweeping 🧹🙌

Previously something like this, another dog pulling/lunging towards him, would have absolutely blown Jerry's brain and we would have got a variety of vocalisations, pulling and lunging, so so proud of how well he recovers from this little startle with a bounce and then disengages to walk on 👌🤩 absolute little superstar!!

So proud of this big sensitive lad making such epic choices and gradually growing confidence around dogs (to disengage from them and engage with me) even in such close proximity which would have been impossible for him before 🥰

Another agility win for Devoted Dogs Xena this weekend 👏🤩

Jezza was such a dude today passings and brief greetings with little dogs 😁 building up his confidence piece by piece 💪🧩 (excuse my terrible laugh 🤦‍♀️😂)

Obviously I fell in love with Barney today, he's a spanna, how could I not?! 🤷‍♀️😂 The 5 month old little spring was uber cool during his first session learning how to walk nicely on the lead today 😁

Harri's relaxation around other dogs and ability to stay calm around them is massively improving as we build his confidence with close proximity passings with the aim of moving on to greetings when he is ready 😁 such a sweet big goof 🥰

After Trustys 3x daily training walks we had the handover with his owners today to teach them the handling skills to continue practicing and improving his newly learnt behaviours. They all did really well and I'm excited to catch up with them in a couple of weeks time 😀

My favourite little wildling was the coolest cucumber today 🙌 continuing to work on her anxieties and fears especially around unknown dogs and she is making such good choices now, even when things are tricky she is able to recover really quickly, it's amazing seeing her build confidence and resilience 🥰

Today we focused Trusty's engagement and recall around bigger distractions, his owner had run into a couple of problems in the past with Trusty and his want to befriend the horses so we practiced recall away from them and being around them calmly without approaching 😁

Jezza did some epic calm passings and following with other unknown dogs today 😊🥰

Trusty had his second training walk on his intensive training walk week and today we focused on some off lead engagement games and recall foundations 😊
