Dirty Horses 😢

I understand its getting colder but its not freezing, if you really can't bath you can still groom. Not flick them off, a good down to the roots groom them.

In the past few weeks I've lost count of the amount of horses being presented still covered in mud/sweaty from just coming back from a work out or "I'll just go get them in".

On a good day on clean horses I can usually do between 5-9 horses on 1 blade 👏 some horses are so grubby they've been doing 2/3/4 blades on thier own, the clip is rubbish which always makes me sad 😔 and it won't have been comfortable for your horses.

It has also taken its toll on my clippers, 2 have blown up and 1 is on its way out. 1 currently off being cleaned and serviced and having a new motor (it was only done last in august)

My large clippers are around £350 a set
Blades around £45
Resharpening £8 per set

I have sent 25 sets of blades off for sharpening and I have another 25-30 sets ready to go and am running out! I never run out!

🌟There is a dirty horse charge.
So if you don't want to pay more get grooming.

So please help me, I just want the best experience for your horses, the best for my equipment (it's not cheap) and for everyone to be happy. 🙌

I have been extremely busy/stressed this past week, my own little pony has been to the vets with a poorly leg😭 we are now on the road to recovery🤞🏼 and I’m a lot more together🤣

Always wash the horse 🧼🧼

Our DMs have been full of “Do I HAVE to wash my horse?”

The answer is always YES- your clippers, blades and horse will thank you 👏

A good wash with shampoo and plenty of scrubbing is a must pre clip

It ensures

📍 Less pressure on your machine
📍 Longer lasting blades
📍 Comfortable for the horse

There is no substitute for a good bath so avoid any dry shampoos or pre clip oils. These may react with your horse or cause your blades to heat or blunt.

IF you have no wash facilities as a last resort a good groom (that should take over and hour and leave you sweating) will work and hot clothing with warm water in the week run up to clipping. Ensure the horse is rugged and dry if you dont have stabling facilities.

Some before and afters of the beautiful Katie and Sky! Sky has had her mane chewed by her goat friends and was looking a little worse for wear so we decided to hog for a healthy regrowth and I think she looks stunning with her new hair do! The beautiful old girl Katie has had a complete colour change with her clip, now looking super smart and 10 years younger🤩💗

The beautiful lady Taz with a full clip with a half leg! She has to be one of my favourites to clip as she is so well behaved and just a complete sweetheart💗 she has quite sensitive legs so we left her legs on with just a tidy of her feather up the back✂️✂️
