JLD Plant hire Ltd was established in 1999.

With 24 hours, 7 days a week opening and 25 years experience under our belts, we offer Plant Hire, Bulk Excavation, Site Clearance, Haulage and Aggregates. We come equipped with Mini Diggers, 4x4x4 Wheel Diggers, Tipper Lorries, Tractors and Dump Trailers, 3-17 Tonne Swing Shovels and Impact Rock Breakers. We can supply aggregates, sand, topsoil and tarmac, little or large loads
(1-17 tonnes) and

we carry out site clearance work and groundworks. We also specialise in construction of horse schooling arenas. We have Public Liability Insurance and are fully insured.

Works are cracking on down in Newlyn. 5 luxury homes for a key client on the High Tide development. Retaining wall backed filled, plot 5 dug out. Drainage going in to numerous plots.

The team did a great job on this electrical substation, 24m of Palaside tri point fencing, forming a reinforced concrete beam and levelling off the ground before laying membrain and 20mm granite.

They even had a pod of dolphins come visit them.

This lovely summer weather has been causing havoc on our 250sqm concrete pour, for a key client in Falmouth. Fingers cross the weather holds for a big pour this Friday.

The lads have done a fantastic job on removing and replacing 140sqm of failed paving on a car park ramp for one of our key clients. Curbs installed to retain the paving better in 3 places. As we were mucking away in our lorries, we are also recycling the removed paving to crush into new material to be used again.

Works underway at Barncoose. Creating extra parking spaces for a very conjested car park. Curbs to finish and ground build up before tarmacing next week.

Nice little job replacing 11 No. of parking bays that had failed. Labour/plant/materials and muck away, all hauled to/from site by us, enabling a quick 2 day turn around for our client.

Due to a heavy work load, and new jobs starting we have more job vacancies appearing.
We are after a 2 / 3 person gang with experience in civils work, drainage and housing sites. Good experience, skills and knowledge of groundworks is a must.
CSCS / CPCS cards are a must.
Dumper, roller tickets etc are an advantage.
Work will be throughout Cornwall.
Rates of pay will depend on the individual, on their skills and experience.

Must be CPCS 360 /card holder.
Also a position for 180 card holder.
Must have experience in operating various sized machines.
Work will range in jobs from housing sites, to civils, to private jobs.
A van will be supplied for work purposes and work will be throughout Cornwall.
Taking some pride in your work and machine is a must.

The 3cx has been out again with another land clearance and tidy up. Old vegetation scraped off, then the stones riddled out of the first 300mm depth of ground and piled separately and then the ground shaped and graded off and finally a reduced area so that the customer can set up a polly tunnel.
Customers very happy with the transformation.

A lovely job we carried out a few weeks ago with the 3cx again, meaning 1 machine and 1 operator. A big clearance job and find the boundaries of the field aswell as clear a track in to it. Move the mine waste and use the material to bund along one of the boundaries. Its now ready to have 300 trees planted.

Another couple of days spent on this carpark. They wanted some more room and the pot holes sorting. All the rubbish that had been dumped over the years was pushed up to the boundary the length of the car park and then tarmac plainings spread over the whole area and compacted. Very happy customer. 👌👍

Another quick job. A couple of days spent at a lovely pair of our customers wrestling with some monster tree stumps again. We have been here before removing some as you will see from one of our previous posts. These were the last ones so the site is finally cleared. We had a good clean up and seal up of the ground on the way out and even managed to replant one of the trees for them. On to the next job. 😁😁

Reinstated the field today and finished the outside concrete pad and ramp of the recent barn this week. Sadly the ground is saturated and will need a decent amount of time to dry out.....bring on some drier weather 🙄🙄😁😁

Our versatile 3cx has been out this week with our patch plainer and one of our gangs patching up and tarmacing a few car park patches and driveway patches as requested by the customer this week. The weather was on our side for a change the day we carried out the repairs which helped 😁

One of the latest projects has been this agricultural shed. Sadly we have battled against the elements from the start of this job and at times the weather has made it difficult but we are pleased with the end results. Just the outside to tidy up now and an extra concrete pad and ramp to do on the side of the building.
Again thanks to who has been involved with the supplies of materials and concrete 👍👍👍
