Well done 😄

This afternoon PC Marson and I have been to deal with a driver who was reported for offences whilst passing two horse riders.

The riders noticed the vehicle oncoming with no signs of it slowing down, the riders signalled to remind the driver of this however they were met with a middle finger as it continued past at speed.

Thank you to the riders who reported and supplied video footage of this offence.

Many horse riders, carriage drivers and cyclists do now wear a camera so if you decide to ignore the highway code or the law you could be leaving yourself open to prosecution.

The highway code states..

Rule 215
Horse riders and horse-drawn vehicles. Be particularly careful of horse riders and horse-drawn vehicles especially when approaching, overtaking, passing or moving away. Always pass wide and slowly. When you see a horse on a road, you should slow down to a maximum of 10 mph. Be patient, do not sound your horn or rev your engine. When safe to do so, pass wide and slow, allowing at least 2 metres of space.

Thank you

⚠ Monsal Trail update

Good news 👉 we're pleased to tell you that the closed section at Rusher Cutting is now re-open - the area has been made safe again for all users.

Thanks also to the neighbouring landowner for prompt action to allow us to re-open for the weekend! 🙏
