Pigeon update! So, a kind member of the public somehow managed to enter the building a rescue the bird who has now been released, we did still attend as wanted to make sure it had definitely been done, we discovered there are other birds in the building due to broken windows so the estate agent is working with the Police to re secure the shop building. While there it was brought to our attention there is another pigeon in need unrelated to this case that has been injured in the same area which we are still trying to locate šŸ¦

Be Nice To Pigeons. "We domesticated pigeons. They are (nearly) all over the world because HUMANS BROUGHT THEM THERE. And, they were more than pets.
They carried messages. People raced them. They lived spoiled lives as honored human companions for centuries.
Then we got telephones and we threw them out like trash.
Literally, we threw them away.
Their species had already been fully
domesticated and they could not survive in the wild; they lost all their survival instincts during the centuries that they lived caged by people.
That is why they live in cities with people instead of in a forest somewhere. It's OUR fault. And not only did we throw them away, but now humans curse them as "winged rats;" casting them as pests. But they don't know how to live without us, and their instincts tell us that they should trust us. So, they continue to come up to humans and beg for food, because it's the only survival skill left in their genes.
They love us because they were bred by us to feel that way, and yet we hate them."

Welshpool Fire Brigade wouldnā€™t do anything to help this poor bird and the RSPCA have been too slow so we are on our way to Welshpool to meet the Estate Agents and bring this bird back to our rescue to evaluate and treat it and then release. If it canā€™t be released then it will go in our aviary. This poor bird has been trapped for the last 2 days in an abandoned building, it canā€™t get out as it canā€™t spread itā€™s wings as it has fell down between the glass window and a board and has had no food or water for 2 days so is weak. Someone allegedly smashed some windows which is how it got in there. The Estate agent is going to secure the building to stop any more animals or birds getting trapped. There have been some unsavoury comments about it being just a pigeon, but we donā€™t view it as just a pigeon, we view it as a scared, trapped hungry living creature that desperately wants to live and is fighting for itā€™s life which is why we are on our way to help it. Pigeonā€™s were vital during the many Wars to send messages back and forth and are beautiful creatures that deserve more respect. Thatā€™s how we feel. We will update once we have rescued it later šŸ¦ RSPB

We are making good progress with this grumpy little cutie pie of a rescue feral kitten. He wouldnā€™t go anywhere near this warm fluffy bed at first, now heā€™s realised itā€™s quite nice to sit on and we arenā€™t so bad after all. ā¤ļø He will be available to adopt by a child free and other pet free, quiet experienced cat owning home in the next couple of weeks. Heā€™s still spicy but we expect him to become a love bug šŸ˜»

Wonderful to see another one of our rescue kittens in his new home settling in beautifully. This kitten was born from a Feral cat we rescued (and spayed) and took a lot of taming with his two brothers but he got there in the end and is a lovely happy chappy. His Mother arrived with two older kittens that had been rescued and then had this litter. Had it not been for organisations like us taking feral and unwanted cats off the street and spaying and neutering them there would be an even bigger population crisis than there already is. These cats are lucky to find new homes and Thank each and everyone who donates food and cat litter, funds towards neutering and spaying and adopts these rescued cats. We are 100% volunteer run and couldnā€™t do it without you. This pretty boy has been named Cookie (we have a Cookie too! šŸ˜»)

Thank You so much Senny Senington for your kind donation tonight. Your generous donation will feed 17 rescue cats for a whole Month. Thank You for having a heart and helping us. We are truly grateful. We have some cats that are very elderly who came into our rescue as their owners had passed away such as the lovely Cleo here and will never find a home as everyone wants a kitten. Your donation will help feed these seniors in our home environment so they are safe and feel loved. Thank You so much šŸ™ā¤ļø

Up until September 2024 We were based in The Midlands. We then relocated to Mid Wales. We were previously registered at Star Vets in Appleby Magna who treated the cats, Paws Vets in Nuneaton who treated Large Animal And Poultry, and We are now registered at Builth Vets. All of our supplies come from Bestway, or via donations, and info on all the cats and where they are rehomed to is kept. We are a very small organisation run by volunteers and do a good job. We step in when others donā€™t care or are full. We are 100% focussed on the animals treating them, rehabilitating them and finding good homes for them where appropriate and is at our own discretion.

Another 2 successful spay and neuter operations completed. Saving several hundred unwanted feral litters of kittens running wild. Took a long time to tame both cats here but worth it. Thank You to The STAR Vet Clinic for the 3 operations you did for us that day. All recovered beautifully šŸ˜»

Just for clarity, All Animals Rescue UK is a not for profit organisation, registered at Companies House as a Community Interest Company. We had to complete a special document called a CIC F36 before we were allowed to be formed and we had to satisfy the CIC regulator that we meet and will comply with the Community Interest Test. This means we are governed by rules which by law we have to follow. We are not allowed to make a profit. 100% of any donations, grants or funding has to be spent on the local community. No one is allowed to have a wage and we are voluntarily run. We have to produce a document every year as well as annual accounts for the CIC Regulator called a CIC34 which is where we have to show by law where all the money went to benefit the community. CICā€™s are regulated. As we have been established for 12 months we can now register with the fundraising regulator. Your CIC has to be registered for 12 months before you can apply to go on it. When a CIC is formed you have to declare upon ceasing of running or if you have excess funds that have not been used an asset lock which means by law we are bound to donate those assets to another charity or CIC we choose The Cats Protection League when our CIC was formed. A CIC is very similar to a charity the difference being the people running the not for profit organisation have more control over how things are run and are responsible for them which we felt better for the animals. Also there is no guarantee that we would receive any donations so needed to have the flexibility to be able to raise our own if needed to continue our work. We are eligible to register as a charity but have decided for now to stay as a CIC Not For Profit Community Interest Organisation. Both are able to accept donations, fundraise and receive grants and both ways of doing good are strictly regulated and in my opinion CICā€™s are more strictly regulated to ensure they are a not for profit and all funds go back into the community which is what we do.
