2019 sees Morrigan Stud moving forward onto a new level. Based on Anglesey.

With my health holding me back and the demand for our stock outstripping supply I am pleased to have the help of Wendy Bent and family joining the Breeding quality all rounders for Affiliated sport and Pony Club activities. Produced to lease by our team of riders aged from 10 up to adult. Majority of the horses and ponies on here are 3 rd and 4th generation Morrigan, often on both sides. Bred and produced for reliability, temperament and ability.

MORRIGAN TOFFEE is due to Janice 's lovely Irish Draught stallion Blake again, she has a filly by him from last year, Blake is for sale, head over to Barnsview stud if you fancy a great big soft hearted, handsome lump of Irish horse.

Quick Star was the horse who brought Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum into the Grand Prix league.

In 1992, they finished first in the Grand Prix of Maastricht and second in the Volvo World Cup in Oslo.

In 1993, they won the Grand Prix of Mannheim and were second in Arnhem.

In 1994, they won the Pulsar Crown Grand Prix of Aachen; and were also winner of the GP of München; second in the Volvo World Cup in Helsinki; second in the GP of Neumünster; sixth in the Volvo World Cup in Oslo.

Worming foals yesterday -
We bring the herd down to the yard for worming.
Shy foals get shepherded into stables with their mums.
Sid was a star! This handsome son of Mia just let me scratch his neck and wormed him out on the yard bless him, he just loves the attention.
His mate Nova was easy enough but he was in a stable so I could do his mum Star who hates wormers.
Tara was easy enough on the yard with help from Joe, despite her grumpy mum Toffee.
Caz was the most worried of all 5 we did yesterday, this son of Ellie is going to be very sporty. He is beautiful 😍

I shouldn't have cut Neddy but I was trying to be 'responsible ' and listen to the voices of 'wisdom' that dictated that I shouldn't be breeding.
What I should've been focused on sooner was to stick to my instinct, breed, produce and make the job pay.
At least we bred some fabulous stock by him. 👌😍

Morrigan Caradog doing his first Working Hunter. Olivia hasn't done a lot of showing but she looked smooth and professional, giving him a lovely ride to win the class against decent ponies, going on to be awarded the Reserve Champion Worker from both horses and ponies sections.

Re tracing my tracks to the source of Morrigan Stud. Morgan Talpanica aka Mole was my first foal. Her sire the Lipizzaner Maestozo Sitnica owned by Lucy Rees lived in this old barn in the '80's. It was here that I first met him and Lucy who was a very good friend of my Father Al Harris.

So your event pony youngster grows into a fine young pony, with luck it’ll measure easily with room to mature. You’ve maybe sat on it and got it going forward. This work is worth £600 unless your planning on throwing it in as a free, add on in the price when it’s sold. To get to this stage has cost you, as the breeder, between £3k & £5k barring accidents etc (this doesn’t include the price of buying a top class broodmare or producing her) How much to get from here to established BE pony with record? A professional producer costs £120-£150/week. £6k-£7.5k/yr. added to £2k which is the basic cost or running an affiliated pony. To get from 4yr old backed to 6 yr old with BE record - £10k+ at the very least. So that BE pony with record? It stood at £13k up to an easily possible £20k to start its career as a BE pony ready for your 12 yr old. Even if we lease at £25/week for 5 years before we sell at age 10 for a market price, we would struggle to cover costs. This is the breeders point of view on the question of why there aren’t enough, properly bred and produced, established BE ponies available. The market believes that all ponies, ready to take a 12 yr old up the levels and look good at 100/Novice, should be ‘affordable’.

Watch out for this little lady, Morrigan Eira Mai. By Neddy, 6 now. She’s same sire as Ollie and her dam same dam as Ollie. Her Dam sire is Brenin’s sire the world renowned Carregcoch Bleddyn sec D sire of European genius Machno Carwyn - Multi Grand Prix Winner and SJ Double European Ponies Gold medalist. Mai will be produced by Connor with help from Heidi O Brien Equestrian.
