Congratulations to Paul Simmons and Zayin Zachilles on finally getting Endurance(what Arabians were created for)onto the front cover of the Summer 2024 AHS News!
In over 30 years of being a Life Member of the Arab Horse Society I can’t ever remember seeing an endurance horse and rider on the front cover(please feel free to correct me if I’m mistaken).
Also, great to see a very interesting article written by Bella Flicker on ‘buying your next endurance horse’.
The front cover photo by David Saunders shows Paul and his trusty Arabian at the Golden Horseshoe where they won a gold medal.

The 3 Amigo’s- ‘CS Dare To Dream’, ‘GL The Legacy’ and ‘GL Hafeed Al Fadee’.
‘CS Dare To Dream’(A Rusleem grandson and approximately 40%Crabbet/Old English) arrived as a 6 month old little sweetie last December and has grown at an incredible rate of knots!!
The 2 boys with him(our ex stallions)stand at around 14 .3hh and are teaching him to be a well mannered future stallion for producing yet more extremely successful endurance horses 🐎🐎🐎🐎

Congratulations on gaining a grade 3 despite Lady losing her boots very early on and having to complete the whole ride barefoot.

Happy birthday to Sarrods Shimetzka AKA 'Tish' on her 31st birthday! Tish is around 50% Crabbet and joined Gold Leaf Arabian Stud 24 years ago as a 7 year old. HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all from Gold Leaf Arabian Stud UK!!

We recently posted that sadly we are having to close down our stud after 36 years of breeding Arabians and re home our horses due to losing a planning appeal for a groom to remain living on site to care for our horses.
I wanted to say how grateful I am for to all those wonderful people who helped us by sharing this post to enable us to find new homes for some of our horses.
It has been an incredibly difficult decision to give up our horses and has been taken purely with the horses welfare in mind, particularly with the winter months upon us.
In addition to thanking all those people who helped by sharing the post, I wanted to update everyone with the great news that three of our horses are now happily living with their new owners, who very kindly sent me regular updates on their progress and some lovely photos which they are happy for me to share with you all.
The first horse to sell within days of the post going public was our lovely palomino Starlight CC. Her new owner Sharon was smitten with her on the first viewing and the feeling was mutual. Starlight is now living on Dartmoor and as can be seen by the photos has settled in well with both Sharon and her new field mate PJ.
The next horse to be sold a few days later was my beloved 'GL The Redeemer', who had not been advertised for sale but when he met his new owner Debbie he happily nuzzled into 🥰her and she was clearly smitten with him. I followed the transporter to his new home, also on Dartmoor, and the photos I took helped me cope with losing him as he was very content with his new home and his lovely new owner.
A day or so after 'GL The Redeemer' was sold, his daughter 'GL Shekina' was collected by Caroline and taken back to her new home in the Welsh mountains to live with her old field companion from here at the stud, 'GL Gilded Lady', who Caroline purchased from us in 2020. Shekina is settling in very well with Caroline in her new home as can be seen from the very last photo.
Viewings for the remaining horses to be sold will resume on the 7th January. More photos will follow in the coming weeks.
Many many thanks again for sharing these posts and helping me find such wonderful homes for my horses.
