IMPORTANT NOTICE…

There appears to be an outbreak of kennel cough in the area , so please keep a close eye on you dogs. It appears to be a strain not covered by the vaccine so even vaccinated dogs could catch it.

If your dog has any symptoms,such as coughing , acting if something is stuck in their throat, sneezing, runny nose, being sick. Please do not bring them to kennels.

Unfortunately ( just like Coronavirus) kennel cough is infectious before symptoms appear, and some dogs can carry it without ever having symptoms.

It can be picked up anywhere but is obviously more prevalent where dogs are mixing in groups, like play parks , walking where a high number of dogs go , training facilities, vets and kennels .

Kennel cough is generally a mild illness and dogs usually recover without needing any treatment.
However,as in all respiratory ailments, young and elderly are more susceptible and you should consult your vet if you suspect they may have kennel cough .

Unfortunately it would appear to have affected some of our customers and in the last few days we have had a number of calls and emails from owners of dogs who have symptoms of kennel cough .

At Thimbleby Kennels your pets welfare is our top priority, so being responsible care providers we need to make you aware of our current situation.

We have cancelled bookings for dogs that have kennel cough symptoms in an attempt to stop the virus from spreading.

Please ensure that your emergency contact details are up to date so that if your dog displays symptoms whilst with us , we can contact them to collect your dog .

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns.
