I work mainly with reactive dogs so I do solo walks or 2/3 dogs from the same household.

My eldest daughter comes with me sometimes (if it's dry 🤣). I was so proud when she made the split second choice to lock little Rosies' flexi as another dog was approaching. I watched Rosies' body language change and Charlotte very quickly dealt with it before I had to say anything.

I obviously stopped recording, as we got closer, as I instructed Charlotte how to deal with Rosie. Afterwards Rosie was giving my daughter a lot of eye contact as there was a gardener using a leaf blower. Charlotte confidently walked on so Rosie stayed calm. She walked so nicely too.

This clever little girl is very much dog reactive and it is engrained. Myself and her owner have been working on her listening skills and we have been using a loaded clicker for a few weeks. I didn't use the clicker much this week as she was happy to move on even though an off lead dog was behind her. I don't discourage watching another dog, I just break it if it becomes fixation.
