All change - this young man has been with me since 4th July but had to go to his mum's friend for the weekend as I had a long standing booking for the cocker spaniel - he's now back and coping well with the heat and guarding his fluffy toy in the shade.

There is a post on a local dog page that is inaccurate . It states it is illegal to do dog boarding without a licence THIS IS NOT the case as I have an email from Horsham District Council setting out their criteria for home dog boarding and when a licence is required. At present my earnings are below the threshold for applying for a licence so I do not need one. I am keeping records of all dogs staying with me and owners have a detailed form to fill in with all dog's details, prior to their visit. The post also states the 'boarder' will not be insured unless licensed. Also untrue, I am insured.

HOWEVER, I strongly recommend anyone considering putting their dog in someone else's care for a day or longer, takes the dog along beforehand so both can be happy with the arrangements.

This lovely boy has come to stay for three weeks as his owner was let down over boarding at the last minute and luckily there was time for me to meet him before she flew off on her hols. He arrived yesterday and think he's worn out.

And here he is, the sprocker staying with me for the last eight days, really feels like part of the family now but going back home to his mum tomorrow. He's an 11 month entire springerxcocker but almost 95% Springer I reckon. He loves to work, I've trained him to the whistle as he's a very smart dog, quick to learn and anxious to please but with a stubborn streak, a challenge but one I've really enjoyed

Look who's come to stay for 8 days - his mum sad to leave him but he'll be fine. She's brought his crate he sleeps in at night and now he's trying to decide which bed he prefers.

😱 my first year with Southwater Art Club and I'm hoping to exhibit some of my 'art'

Finally after almost 3 years the Southwater annual Art Exhibition and Craft Show is back. We hope to see lots of visitors to see our local artists work in various mediums from painting to ceramics and lacemaking. We have a locally based 3D prop maker with a range of models on display and lots of items for sale. Some great tombola prizes and even a chance to win a pet portrait. Plus childrens activities and of course refreshments will be available. Put the dates 18th and 19th of June in your diary.

Good news - I have applied to Horsham District Council for a dog boarding licence and have been advised I don't need one as the turnover of Come Sit and Stay isn't enough to warrant one in the first year, so I'm open for business right now

I am now all set with Dog Boarding Insurance with Protectivity Insurance and Licence (pending), to take bookings for one small to medium size family pet for holidays.

I take one dog at a time and it stays in the house with me.
