⬇️ A loss of boiler pressure is a common winter problem.

⬆️ It is easy to increase your boiler's pressure yourself.

📖 Your instruction manual should tell you what type of filling system you have and how to top up the boiler.

💻 You can find instructions online, or the manufacturer can talk you through it over the phone.

🔩 HEAT EXCHANGERS 🔩

👎🏼 As with all boiler components, heat exchangers can break or fail.

An annual boiler service 🔧 can identify whether it needs to be cleaned or repaired.

If you can catch things early ✅ you can save on repairs and improve the system’s efficiency.

Heat exchangers can be expensive components, so it’s good to look after them.

🐶 Red ears, gums or lips can be the first signs of CO poisoning in cats and dogs.

🐾 Other signs include changes in behaviour, vomiting, drowsiness and/or breathlessness.

🐱 The RSPCA & Gas Safe Register want to make sure pet owners are clued up on the warning signs.

🐾 Due to their smaller size and lung capacity pets are more sensitive to CO exposure.

There are different types of gas boiler:-

1) combination (aka “combi”) boilers
2) heat-only (aka “regular”) boilers
3) system boilers.

〰️ Combi boilers are the most common and provide hot water when needed for homes with low water demands.

〰️ Heat-only boilers require a cold water feed tank and hot water storage tank, usually installed in the loft. Best for large homes with multiple bathrooms being used at the same time.

〰️ System boilers don't require a cold water feed tank and have more parts built into the boiler body. Best suited for large homes with poor water pressure and a high water demand.

Hi everyone, it is Mrs Ringrose here….

I am taking Austin away to Iceland this weekend to celebrate him turning HALF A CENTURY on Monday.

He won’t be answering calls or messages as his fingers will be tucked away in his gloves, or round a glass of something refreshing.

He’s back Wednesday and will return any messages etc then.

A lack of central heating doesn’t necessarily mean time for a new boiler. It could be time to replace radiators instead.

There are benefits to buying new radiators, besides making sure that you are warm and cosy.

New radiators are made with modern features and technology, meaning they are more energy efficient than older ones.

This radiator I fitted at the top of someone’s stairs is stylish and economical.
