Today was week 3 on my Puppy Foundation Course. All progressing well. Lead walking is one of the hardest things to perfect. This takes time and effort.

We have now finished for Christmas. I have given my class ideas to keep pups out of mischief over the holiday period. I’m looking forward to seeing them all in 2 weeks time. Sorry no photos today. 🥶

I had my third home visit to Arlo this week. I did a pre- puppy coming home visit, one a couple of days after Arlo arrived and one now he can go out and about.

With all of the above I also offer support over WhatsApp between lessons or 1-2-1’s.

11 years ago today I started dog walking!

Well what a year! Lots of highs and lows.

Yesterday was the start of my new Puppy Foundation Course.

A lovely group with gorgeous dogs. All did very well considering it was the first lesson! I am looking forward to seeing how they progress.

This afternoon I did my second home visit with Arlo. He will be going ‘out out’ soon so we discussed how to deal with this, things to do and things to avoid!

Arlo’s owners have followed my advice on crate training and toilet training. He is very happy to go in his crate when given the command, he even takes himself off there as they have taught this all very positively. A cosy snuggly safe space!

It has been a weekend of puppies!

After my pre puppy visit last week to Arlo’s owners, I did a home visit yesterday to see how they were getting on.

It was good to hear they have listened and he is crate trained and he is more or less toilet trained! 👏

Today was the last of my 6 week Puppy Foundation Course for this group.

I’ve had so much fun with this group! I was really sad it was the last session. All have made fantastic progress. We have worked through problems that have arisen with good results. Always remember the lead in the pocket exercise 🤣👌(Just missing Ozzy today who couldn’t attend today.)

It’s good to see that most of the group are progressing to our obedience with an introduction to gundog training.

Those not following that path can attend our obedience training workshops next year. Dates and time to be confirmed.

Alfie has been with me since I began Rachel’s Happy Hounds.

I don’t see him very often now but I have the pleasure of walking him for a little while and I couldn’t wait to pick him up today.

His squeals of excitement when he saw me made my heart swell!! 🥰
