I loved our games of high five and how you still make me giggle trying not to fall asleep in case you miss some fun. While you were here you enjoyed making sure I didn't work too hard on admin 😂, lovely snowy walks, munching biltong and oodles of cuddles. Think this stay has got to be a first... you weren't responsible for me falling over at all 😂🐾❤️

Monty 🐾❤️
Absolutely loved having wee Monty Moo back for many snuggles and games of tuggy. I quite simply adore the way you would greet me in a morning, bring me your blankie and doing happy s***f s***f sounds 🥹 too cute!
While you were here, you enjoyed lots of local walks from the door, playing in the snow, anything you could chomp on, but especially the buffalo horns and olive sticks. You were over the moon to see your friend Olive too 🐾❤️

Listen to the whispers

Whispers are soft, subtle and so easy to miss in our often busy, hectic lives, but making an effort to listen to them can prevent situations from escalating, resulting in reactive behaviour.

A dog’s attempt to communicate is so often misunderstood or completely ignored.

Body language is one of the only ways that dogs can let us know how they are feeling. When we know how they’re feeling, we can intervene, help them feel safe and prevent those emotions from boiling over.

Body language can be subtle and fleeting, but with careful observation and knowing what to look for most of us can learn to recognize and understand what our dogs are saying.

It’s always important to look at the context, the situation and especially what the rest of the body is doing when deciphering their language.

Being able to understand a dog’s emotional state through their body language helps us to predict behaviour, prevent potential problems or simply allows us to just enjoy observing what they are feeling.

Although dogs each have their own unique personalities and distinct way of communicating, there are many common signs that can give us insight. We just need to take the time to learn and then notice them. I believe dogs would be so grateful if we make the effort to learn their language.

Today was full of merriment for the paws! So...much...water! Olive found more treasure in the form of a hat this time, and Ruby made the most of the last of the snow. Both had lots of fun heather hopping! 🐾❤️

We made it out of Burley 🤣🤣🤣 (I'm such a wuss!) Team Merry Paws were giddy kippers today. The rollies were good, the sniffies even better and Olive found treasure in the form of a frisbee 😍 Coco couldn't believe she wouldn't share 🤣🐾❤️

Lilly was on her top form wrecking ball self today 😆 The girls all loved a game of snowballs and then a game of scatter to calm down after much excitement. Olive was suuuuuper happy to be walking in the snow AND find a spot of mud! 🐾❤️

No pictures of our rather pathetic non walk today as I spent most of the time on the floor 🙄 Hate having my limitations screamed out for me.
Soooo, I called the walk short and took Olive home with us and we had a ball in the garden instead. We also played scent games and tuggy games indoors to break it up so Mabel didn't get too cold outside.
They LOVED it when I got the wubbas out and they were all pooped puppers by the time we were done!
Team Merry Paws never fail to put a smile back on my face 🥰🐾❤️

So much walking in the snow today. Lots of fun had. I think their fave times were snow rollies and Peter lobbing snowballs for them to chase 😍🐾❤️
