A lot of you have said that this all sounds too good to be true so we thought we would make our “method to the madness” clear; or as Shakespeare once said, “Though this be madness, yet there is method in’t” - and yes I just looked the origin of that phrase up. The phrase “To be, or not to be, that is the question” was of equal importance when I spent years working towards the launch of this venture. I decided it was, to be.
Some Facts & Figures:
* We have no building overheads which saves us thousands of pounds a month over other practices.
* 8% of your pets will need serious treatment or surgeries each year.
* 40% of your pets will need minor treatment or surgeries, which is little above the cost of labour for us
* 60% of your pets will need routine dentistry, which again is little over the cost of labour and is also only included in the Premier membership package as we offer an annual teeth clean under sedation with this, meaning that the chances of your pet developing extreme dental problems are significantly reduced!
* Our largest and most important expenses are our team, the salaries for which currently amount to £35,000 per month. So as long as we have at least 850 members (which is less than 0.4% of the pets who reside in our surrounding areas) this cost is covered.
* Our second biggest expense is medication, which is why this is only included in our Premier package. Half of our patients are Premier members which covers our average monthly medication bill.
* We are a non profit, independent veterinary practice.
* Vets and nurses are getting in touch with us daily because they want to work here and not for corporates!
* Our team is knowledgeable, experienced and pretty friendly too!
* The place isn’t bad either 😉
Anything above 850 members is a bonus and goes towards better equipment, facilities and… the opening of more centres!
Also, because preventative treatment is inclusive over time your pets will become healthier, eventually reducing our costs further and helping them to live even longer and happier lives!
Now you have some insight into how we operate, hopefully more of you will join us so we can go on to equip our practice with everything we need to be granted full animal hospital status in the new year and heavily reduce our outgoings for any necessary referral surgeries.
