WE ARE NOT JUST REHABILITATION RE just for SWIMMING
We are often asked to take other issues on board by our lovely clients / vets in need of assistance
please see below a very interesting CASE we have just took in and worked on over the last 5 days.
Could not get all photos and videos to go on post so have put them in comments
Foal Born 3rd JUNE 24 with severe 'Ballerina' (contracted Flexor tendons) issues.
see first picture - short video - sent to me the morning He was born .
Vet there end attempted support of fetlock twist with half splint - but knee was still an issue -
tried to assist in phone calls and descriptions over phone - but owners not able to be brave enough having never dealt with this issue before - decided to put on lorry and send to CMC Equines
from the pictures and videos you will see the initial improvement after ONE night in full limb calliper - then the test walk out for a brief run in the arena day one - then another night in calliper to a support bandage - and field turn out ( So as to avoid muscle atrophy especially in the shoulder)
then another night in calliper to today - with the hoof now flat to the floor !!!!!
the importance of applying correctly - with sheep skin to protect delicate skin and joints can not be stressed enough -- regular removal and Physio of the limb before replacing is paramount ! but I THINK WE ARE WINNING
Next step is to get Farrier on board and strengthen this beautiful boy up as much as possible - to eventually not need the bandage at all. Calliper off tonight !!! I'm Going to risk it !! but Obviously monitor the hell out of him for quite a while yet !
