for your 4 legged best friend - indoor safe and secure doggy daycare and dog walking, training classes and workshops, a doggy spa and groom room and a shop stocked with healthy treats and fabulous toys and training aids. The Dogworks Training Academy is run by Karen; a fully qualified dog training and behaviour consultant and team are fully trained and qualified in canine care and first aid and we are completely covered by Petplan Sanctuary Business Insurance.

We started the week with some birthday wishes and we're going to finish it with a slightly belated Happy Birthday to the lovely Kailee as she turns 3.

We know we say it all the time but it feels like two minutes ago she walked through the door and she has grown into a fantastic girl who thinks lunchtime should be before 11am (she's not wrong!) and that she's absolutely hilarious. Which in fairness she pretty much is 😆

We're starting the week with a Happy Birthday for yesterday for young Reggie as he turns 7 years old, though you wouldn't know it the way he acts when there's a squeaky toy about 😆

We hope you've had a weekend full of all your favourite things and people Reggie and we'll look forward to seeing you sonn to celebrate 🥳

There seems to have been a theme this week of wave your legs in the air, sharing toys and action shots as the gang have been going about their days.

They've also been some nice local walks for some relaxing sniffs and we've had some training games scattered through as well, just to keep everyone on their toes. Although we might need to have a quiet word about sofa manners it seems! 😆

Either way it's been another fun week, although we've been missing some familar faces 🐾

It's been a busy week in the unit with a lot of the regulars back from their summer breaks andit was lovely to see them catching up with their friends. You'll need to excuse the flicker pad of photos of Blair & Machrie but honestly they were just too cute 🧡🖤

Charlie and Hamish came a very close second in the omg I haven't seen you in ages play then there's Hudson & Nash....not sure we've got words for that but they were having fun and that's all that matters! 😆

We've reached that time of the summer holidays when parents will be celebrating for surviving, teachers and school support staff possibly not so much but we are looking forward to seeing all the gang back again.

It's been a fab summer and we're grateful not only to have the garden to play and splash in but that the unit stays lovely and cool for most of the day 😎

This week the guys had some added interest with the whole (or should that be hole) loss of power saga but they all coped amazingly with random workmen and lots of noise outside while it was sorted out. In amongst it all there were lots of games of bitey face, searching and sniffing, being brought in because it's to hot to sunbath any more before cuddles with besties. Hudson was very insistent that Nash was going to be his friend for the day!

Whichever side of the holiday fence you fall on we hope you have a good week and if you're one of those lucky people that wait until the schools go back before heading of you've nearly made it 😁

As for us we can't wait to get started with our Adventure Tails & Trails now we're back 🐾💚🥾 Here's a few photos of the gang going about their week 💞

Hope your summer holidays are going well (especially if you're lucky enough to get the full summer off 😎),

The Dogworkers (or should we be calling them the Adventurers now🤔) have all been having a ball whether they've been in at Daycare, at Adventure Club or off on their hols.

Despite having about a gazillion beds and sofas to choose from George got inventive about the best sunbathing spot much to have confusion of Moose! There was the usual paddling pool fun with new recruits being enticed into the water, Lola should everyone how catching should be done and of course playing with friends along with making new ones.

Apologies to Marshall and Hamish for missing photos of their new hairdos on Friday💞

It's a Happy 8th birthday to the ever fabulous Lola today 💞

Thank you for all the positive comments and messages about us becoming Adventure Tails & Trails. They've confirmed that we are absolutely heading in the right direction and we're not the only ones wanting to add a little (or a lot) of adventure into our everyday.

Keep an eye out for our first official Adventure walk coming in August once we're back from our summer break.

Hi everyone

We have some exciting news here at The Dogworks and a decision that has been a long time in the making (so we hope you'll forgive us using the for the first time ever 😁)

We are changing our name and with it what we offer to better reflect everything we believe makes a difference to the wellbeing of both dogs and people!!!

The Dogworks is becoming🥁🥁🥁🥁

𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬 & 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬

It will take a little time to get everything in place with new branding, website etc but we've started with our socials and you'll start to see the rest of the changes coming in over the coming weeks.

Rest assured the daycare will be carrying on and we will be sharing the guys Adventures as always. However going forward I will no longer be offering behaviour or general training as such, (current clients won't be affected) certainly in the overseeable.

Instead, with the support of the team, I will be focusing on growing Adventure Club with monthly adventure walks - short & long, scent & mantrailing adventures and of course Hoopers & Dookers. There are also plans for adventure weekends for those who fancy getting away and exploring. There's a lot of Adventuring in that 😆!

I also have a personal project that I'll be sharing more about in the near future all I'll say at the minute is long distance, hills & fitness!

As a team we are really excited, and if we're honest a little bit nervous, about the new way forward but we feel it encompasses everything we love about being with dogs.....

Getting outside, exploring new places together, trying new things, finding new places, adding micro-adventures into our everyday and getting moving (more) however that looks for you & your dog . All while we are creating memories together and building an amazing community.

We hope you love it too, here's to adding a little bit of Adventure into the everyday

Our Story

The Dogworks is an award winning dog training centre, based in Kilwinning in North Ayrshire - a purpose built 1000 sq ft centre dedicated to all things dog! The Dogworks is run by Karen; a fully qualified and accredited dog training and behaviour consultant with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers, INTODogs, the Pet Professional Guild of Great Britain, and a Certified Trainer with ICAN. All the team are fully trained and qualified in canine care, dog training and first aid. It’s important in an unregulated industry that you check out whoever you hire to help with your dog, we’re proud of our qualifications and ethos and are completely transparent.

Our services include group training classes, private in-home training packages and behavioral consultation and support if you need a bit of extra help. We’re here to help you have the relationship you’ve always wanted with your dog!

We are completely covered by Petplan Sanctuary Business Insurance.
