Adventure Tails and Trails

We hope you've been enjoying the gorgeous weather over the weekend, this is the November days we have been waiting on it made for a lovely morning down at the beach park this morning trailing & questing 💚

During the week we've been playing how many times can we open the door in a day! The answer is too many to count and the squeaky pig remains by far the best toy in the place, although how it is surviving we not quite sure. We do know though even if we bought a couple of dozen there would still only be one good one! 🐷

With our days sitting out in the garden limited we decided to bring the garden chairs in which Mac, Faith and Hamish were very excited about. We're pretty sure they were playing musical chairs at one point as every time we turned round they would be sat in a different place 😄 oh and despite the look of the photo we didn't put Hamish is a box.

Anyone else find it tricky to get the motivation to get outside in November with the dark mornings, darker evenings and pretty dubious weather much of the time?

Working on the principle of action brings motivation and knowing that ultimately I'll feel much better for getting out I'm setting myself a goal of 5k a day (or more) for the month. Either walking, hiking or running (yes I'm still working on that Couch to 5k!) with a cold dip thrown in here and there for good measure.

Anyone fancy joining in for some encouragement and accountability? Even if that just sounds like are we nuts going out in this! 😆 Perhaps even a couple of group walks, dips if you fancy and are in the local area.

Your goal would be personal to you and doesn't need to be 5k or anything close to that. Sitting outside with a coffee is still getting outside and feeling the season.

If you fancy it drop a comment in below and I'll reactivate the fb group we had before.

Alternatively you can laugh at me getting soaked most days while I comment on how dark it is!

The end of October has crept up on us and with it we are ashamed to say it but we missed Piper's birthday post.

Piper loves nothing more than cuddling up on the sofa, especially on those rainy days and playing ball reagardless of the weather. If she can get hold of a tennis ball to strip even better! ⚽

We have a very special Sunday post tonight as we mark the end of an era.

Charlie and Reggie, two of the original Dogworkers said goodbye this week to step into their retirement, though we are certain they won't be making it a quiet one!

These two have been regular faces since the very early days of The Dogworks and it's safe to say they will be hugely missed and leave very big (tiny) paws to fill. Monday mornings, or any other morning for that matter just won't be the same with the boys bursting through the door with Reggie announcing to everyone he's arrived 😆 while Charlie bimbles round to say hi to all his friends.

The boys have always been keen to give everything ago from snuffle mats and searching through to agility, walks and checking out the latest squeakys to arrive in the unit.

Good luck boys and enjoy finding new squirrels to keep out your garden. Don’t be strangers.

We hope everyone has enjoyed the half term holiday (if you get it that is) We've been a few regular faces down with them being away but we have a bumper load of photos for you none the less 🐾

We think the main game this week is how many dogs can you fit on a sofa, although Alfie has been up to his usual tricks and finds Nash a far better option regardless how many sofas, beds, crates and blankets are on over. Others just prefer the floor!

Whatever the choose they certainly enjoy seeing their friends each week and get up to mischief, in the best possible way! How could those faces get up to anything other than fun 😂

UPDATE... Vera is now home and recovering 🥰

🚨 ADDER ALERT – IRVINE BEACH PARK / SAND DUNES 🚨

Please be extra vigilant if walking your dogs in the Irvine Beach Park or sand dunes area.

🐾 My own spaniel, Vera, was bitten by an adder there this morning. She’s currently at the vets on a drip to flush out the venom — I’ll post an update once we know more.

If you suspect an adder bite, act fast and contact a vet immediately.

Signs of an adder bite in dogs:

1. 🐍 Swelling around the wound (often the face, legs, or paws)

2. 🔴 Bleeding or bruising

3. 😢 Signs of pain or distress

4. 🦶 Lameness or reluctance to move

Please keep your dogs close and avoid letting them run through long grass or dunes where adders might be basking.

We tried to post Hamish's birthday post last week but for some reason FB just wasn't playing ball (it will probably turn up half a dozen times now!)

Hamish is one of those dogs who the gang all love , the girls just adore him and the oys all want to be his best mate..... honestly it;s a superpower 💫 and he brought party bags with him for all his Friday friends!

Sorry about the lack of our normal Sunday post the last couple of weeks but on a very wet and miserable Monday morning there's nothing like the Adventure Tails & Trail gang to brighten things up and bring a smile.

It was lovely to see Lola back this week after her holiday (that month flew past!) and we’ve been celebrating Blair, Nero and Hamish’s birthdays as well as playing dodge the rain all week.

We’ve had scent games, taste tests, searching fun then the old favourites bitey face and wave your legs in the air like you just don’t care! All before cuddling down with friends. 💞🐾

Our last birthday for September (sorry we're a couple of days late) is the ever handsome Blair as he turns a very frightening 3! Honestly how has that happened 🤔

Blair is one of those dogs who is just kind through and through, a pleasure to have round the unit 💞

We hope you've had a good birhday weekend Blair and we'll have a extra treat waiting for you when we see you 🎂

Our second birthday of the week is Nero as he turns a big 2 years old (even if he still looks like a puppy in his photo!)🥳

Over the last few months Nero has turned has paw to Hoopers, Mantrailing and been one of the volunteers on our secret project and it has been lovely to see him having so much fun with his Mum 🐾
