Welcome to KD'S Dog Training!
Hello there, my name is Karen. I love animals and have always had a dog as a family pet since I was young.
My passion for animals, especially dogs, really took off when I lived in Spain. I volunteered at an animal shelter where most of the animals were dogs and cats, but we did have the occasional donkey, horse and even a monkey! Over the 3 years I was helping with the rescue I became very involved in fostering dogs and have taken around 30 dogs into my home as a foster, and I have had 2 or 3 come through my doors since I moved back to Scotland. In fact, I have had at least 1 dog in my life one way or another for the last 18 years - I currently have 3 dogs of my own and two teenagers so life keeps me on my toes but I love it!
When I moved back to Scotland in 2018, I started working with children, but I still couldn't shake my love for animals, in particular, dogs. In 2019 I decided to start my own animal care business so that I could fulfill my desire to work with dogs (and the occasional cat!).
Since 2021, my interest in working with dogs expanded and I decided that I wanted to move into dog training. So for 12 months I have shadowed an established trainer to gain the knowledge, techniques and information needed to be able to do one of the best jobs in the world. In terms of training I use a variety of techniques to create a happy, obedient and understood dog - and a happy owner.
With the addition of training services being offered, the lovely Sam has joined KDS Animal Care & Dog Training Services to help out with the dog walking side, in order to ensure that the best possible service if given to our clients.
I now offer a Basic Obedience Class and private 1-2-1 sessions to help owners and their dogs that are having a bumpy time in their training journey.
Feel free to contact me to see if we can help you with your dog training, dog walking, animal home visits, pet taxi or vet run needs.
