Did you know that making a dog use their natural instincts is more tiring than a 10 minute walk!?
Working a dog through their nose, also known as scent work or nose work, is a beneficial activity for dogs for several reasons:
1. **Mental Stimulation**: Engaging a dog's sense of smell through activities like scent work provides mental stimulation. It challenges their cognitive abilities, problem-solving skills, and keeps them mentally sharp.
2. **Physical Exercise**: Nose work often involves physical activity as dogs follow scent trails, search for hidden objects, or participate in tracking exercises. It provides a form of exercise that can be both mentally and physically rewarding for your furry friend.
3. **Bonding and Communication**: Working with your dog through their nose strengthens the bond between you. It's a collaborative activity where you and your dog work together to achieve a common goal, enhancing communication and trust.
4. **Natural Instincts**: Dogs have a strong natural instinct to use their noses. Engaging in scent work allows them to fulfill this instinctual behavior in a positive and constructive way.
5. **Behavioral Benefits**: Scent work can help reduce anxiety, boredom, and destructive behaviors in dogs. It gives them a productive outlet for their energy and can help build confidence.
Overall, working a dog through their nose is a fun and rewarding activity that offers a range of benefits for your canine companion. It taps into their natural abilities, provides mental and physical stimulation, and strengthens the bond between you and your furry friend. 🐾

The beautiful pippin and her owner going over some basics.
Learning not to just constantly use her name as a anwser for recall.
When repeating a dog's name because it can lead to what's known as habituation.
When you repeat a dog's name over and over, the dog may start to ignore it or not respond as effectively.
Dogs, like humans, can get used to hearing the same thing repeatedly, and it may lose its significance to them.
To maintain a dog's attention and responsiveness, it's best to use their name selectively and meaningfully.
This helps ensure that when you do call their name, they pay attention and respond appropriately. So, it's all about using their name purposefully to keep it meaningful to them!
So, my advice to the lovely owner was to use really tasty treats.
Allow the dog to think.
Use a whistle when calling or I use the word 'come' or 'here'
Keeping it short and sweet so we don't confuse the dog on what we're asking off them!
If you'd like a 1 2 1 session please get in touch today 😁

Don't give up.
Keep trying.
Keep repeating!
Remain calm!
If you don't succeed first try, try again!

Can your dogs resist food whilst unattended?
Yes should be your answer!
I have a lot of messages on food and children!
Our children can drop anything harmful towards our beloved pets!
Teaching your dogs "leave" command and boundaries is a top priority!
Not only for our children but the safety of our dogs!
A lovely Walk with my clients beautiful puppy!!!!

This is my French bulldog. Very different kind off breed that I prefer and like to train however, you can train your small dogs just like your big dogs!
It takes a lot of dedication and patience however, you can do it!
This boy was hard work. He will be a year old next month and has done incredible with his training!
Yes, he can go off lead.
Yes he has good recall
Yes he's great with everything but don't be fooled!
There has been times where he didn't listen.
Didn't come back!
Wanted to start dog fights!
This is just how easy a video can show you and assume that everything's great! There has been a lot of hard times however I went back to basics and that's what I tell every client!
Go back to day 1 repeat everything over and over again until they get it!
Then this video? You'll see the final picture when you don't give up!!! 🙏🐾💯

This morning I had a nice session with my own dogs.
Just a nice morning stroll. 🌄
This is my 2 yesr old spaniel.
As much as she can go off lead.
Be a teacher.
Help children and help dogs.
I still do 1 2 1 training with her.
This morning, we did a bit off desensitisation with trains. Not that we get on many or see a lot however, the smells, sounds and the people can be very overwhelming for certain dogs.
Just standing and rewarding the calm and relaxed behaviours in certain situations can go very far.
Desensitizing your dog to people can help them feel more comfortable and reduce anxiety. It's important for their well-being and can make outings more enjoyable for both of you! 🐾
Desensitizing your dog to sounds is beneficial because it helps them become less reactive and fearful. It can make them more confident and relaxed in various environments. Plus, it's a great way to enhance their overall quality of life! 🐾
A fun evening game time for Mr zeus!
Teaching him to wait and then find the ball.
This is a great way to kick-start his mental stimulation and also teach him patience (wait)
You can make them wait for longer.
You can wake away and hide the ball instead of allowing them to see!
There is a majority of things you can do to have a little fun time! This will also make your bond stronger as its a fun little game!
This beautiful odin having a nice heel walk 🥰❤️
