The first Great Tit of the year has arrived 💕 Her name is Wee Chloe 🥰 She was left behind after her siblings fledged the nest box and was looking quite weak.

Thankfully their nest box had a camera so this whole episode was being carefully monitored 👀 Fiona rushed the baby over from Edinburgh and Wee Chloe is now completely settled and very vocal!

There's been quite a few 'newbies' coming in over the past few days. It hasn't helped that I've been ill and my car's broke down but nevertheless I've managed to keep going and care for all my feathered patients! 💕

One of the new Starlings is the sibling of Sooty and Sweep that fell down the chimney..... so ofcourse she's called Sue.

It's busy, busy and spaces are really limited 🤯

Sorry if I've missed some calls and messages but I wasn't well. Also haven't posted much on Facebook but I'm back to full strength now!

It's the 'May Meltdown'....happens every year! 🙄

Our first 2 baby Blackbirds of the season were released yesterday! Dave from Glenrothes who had been attacked by Magpies and Baby Dave who had been caught by a cat.

They spent about a week in the aviary acclimatising to the conditions before the hatch was opened and they started their new lives 🥰

There's already a queue forming for who's next in the aviary... it will be little Robin ❤️

Meet Sooty and Sweep 🥰 Two little Starling nestlings who fell down a chimney. They were handed into Wallace Vets in Broughty Ferry a couple of days ago and had been looked after overnight by staff. The next day Sue from UKWT kindly picked them up and brought them all the way to Kinross!

A great effort by everyone to ensure these babies got help 👏 They are both doing really well and have an amazing appetite!!

Another 'Miracle Baby' !!!! 😱 This fledgling Blackbird was rescued yesterday in Ladybank and rushed over as quick as possible. She was cold and extremely weak so I immediately got her into the brooder to heat her up gently before doing anything else.

After a short while she was strong enough to open her beak so she got electrolytes and then some food but she was still very wobbly and weak.

This morning she is up on her tiptoes demanding fed!! Wow these babies are tough little cookies 🍪

The first fledgling House Sparrow of the season arrived last night from Auchterarder. He was rescued after being caught by a cat...twice! Unbelievably he's not injured but is on a course of antibiotics due to the bacteria present in cat saliva.

He's been named Rocky by his rescuers, as clearly he's a fighter 🥊🥊

Currently the space for adult/injured pigeons is very limited right now. I can still take nestling pigeons.

Happy 100th Birthday to Sir David Attenborough.
I had the pleasure of meeting him at a book signing in Edinburgh many years ago!
He signed it for my mum who's watched him since the days of Zoo Quest.

Every year there's a 'Miracle Baby' and this fledgling Robin is it... I got a call on Tuesday night from Carole and her husband in Perth, that their cat had brought in a wee bird. When I saw the photo of him lying in their hand I thought he was on his way out 😢.

But I gave them some advice to keep him warm and carefully give a droplet of sugar water on the tip of the beak. (They didn't have sugar so used honey) Well you can imagine my surprise when I got a message the next morning saying he'd survived.

They rushed him over first thing in the morning and now he's looking much better. He's taking food really well.... and jumping around today!

See, miracles do happen ✨️ 🙏😇

Say hello to Cooper from Cupar! 👋 We rushed over to cupar to collect this nestling Blackbird yesterday evening. A cat had found him and he's got a small puncture wound. He's now on antibiotics and cosy in the brooder and will be fed every hour from dawn till dusk.

We also got a lovely wee Feral Pigeon last night called Jimmy. He'd been rescued and looked after by a caring couple from Glenrothes who did a great job 🥰

Two more baby Wood Pigeon's are arriving later today!

Baby Dave our second Blackbird nestling is definitely not a nestling anymore! What a transformation from 2 weeks ago when he first arrived... I didn't think he'd last the night.

Now he's starting to self feed and preparations are being made to get him and our first baby Blackbird out to the aviary!

Some of you might have seen a post on Fife Jammer Locations yesterday about a baby Wood Pigeon in trouble. Thankfully a lovely family managed to bring him over to me. He's been caught by a cat with a few small wounds to the back, missing some feathers and a slight limp.

His wounds have been treated and he's started a course of medication. He's also getting tube fed as his crop was empty.

I think I'll name him Keith....as he was found on Keith Drive in Glenrothes!
