Class to commence in November

What you will get

🐾 your dog will learn how to use his nose to find a particular scent in various areas
🐾 a great bond with your dog
🐾 if you complete the course you will receive a certificate and rosette
🐾 you will be able to compete on trials once this course is completed
🐾 suitable for all ages, breeds and behaviours (most sessions it will be 1 dog working at a time anyway but please let me know of any issues when booking)

Hi all you lovely followers. I am so sorry for not being active recently.
I've had a few messages so thought I'd be best to update everyone on a post.

Unfortunately I have struggled to find a consistent suitable hall for to hold classes. I can do 1 to 1 sessions and I can hold taster scentwork classes but not being able to progress these further onto weekly classes.

How would people feel about doing scentwork outdoors. This is where (if you were to progress and do trials etc) would be anyway. Yes there will be various other smells but it all adds to the fun and training of it.

The reason I am asking is I can hire a field a lot easier than a hall. This will also hopefully reduce the cost of the subscription.

A long post and some you won't know or understand as its about our mentor Jamie and how UKSD came about but the things thats said ib the post are spot on.

I would be lost without the obedience training and scentwork with my own two dogs.

This alone is the biggest reason why i want to bring scentwork to pet dog owners in fife

Hi guys,

Lets see your beautiful dogs.

This is Caoimhe (2yrs) on the left and Cisco (12yrs)on the right.

Both of these guys love sniffing and really enjoy scent work. Their confidence has grown and so has the relationship between myself and them. They love having a "job" to do..

Scentwork is great if the weather is rubbish outside or if you or the dog isnt feeling too great you can do little bits in the house.

Its also great if your out on walks and want them to be a bit more focused on you instead of reacting to the environment..

So many postives for scentwork.

Hey guys

Just wanting to show off these beautiful rosettes that I have had made for the classes 😍

I am going to put on a couple of taster sessions probably over the easter holidays so I can try accommodate most of those who were interested.
These still need to be booked in advance so i can monitor numbers.

These taster sessions will be £20 and they will give you a little insight as to what will happen in the 6 week block of classes.

I will put another post up with confirmed dates/times once I chat with the hall owners.

Also if to out into perspective of how amazing our dogs noses are....

I was watching zac efrons down to earth program on netflix...

Not sure of you will remember of the fires in Australia in 2020 that killed and ruined alot of wildlife.. nearly made koalas extinct 😭

Well in the programme we were introdiced to Smudge. He has been trained to sniff out koala p**p...

If you look up koala p**p it is teensy probably the size of rabbit p**p 💩

Smudge is able to sniff out a single 💩 in a 2.5 acre area of the forest

Hey guys,

We as dog owners need to advocate for our dogs.

Both us or our dogs should not feel stressed/anxious or pressured into allowing other people or dogs to be in our dogs space.

Every walk I do with Cisco and Caoimhe we are doing some sort of training and I don't want other people or dogs ruining that.

I often hear "they must not like other dogs" OR "they are not allowed to play with you"
But i keep walking.. My dogs do not want to "speak" to every other dog thats off their leads running up to them with bundles of energy whether its good or bad energy is not the point.

The "he's friendly" chat needs to stop.

In a perfect world everyone would get along with everything but it's just not the case in the real world.

My dogs are my only priority when out with them and sometimes that hurts peoples feelings 🤦‍♀️ but it is what it is and I will always stand up for them.
