🔴 DOG DAY CARE / BOARDING LICENCE 🔴

We recently did a meet and greet with someone that had never needed home boarding before. They were meeting with multiple company’s to see which they were better suited to.

We went through everything with them and what to expect with process/care/rates etc and what to ask for at the other meets, most importantly to make sure they are licensed and insured!!!!

One of the places they visited DIDNT have a licence or insurance🤬 now this really winds us up, especially when we bend over backwards to make sure everything is right in our house and garden. For instance gates, so you have to have two gates or two doors for the garden, and then others just think they can miss that part out… again putting pets at risk!

We (dog day care/ boarding companies) work so hard to make sure everything is all in place, paperwork is filled in daily, and everything is running as it should. If you are council rated your licence is up to 3 years. The fee is slightly different depending on which council you are in but it’s roughly £300/400 for the time of your licence. It’s not expensive and you pay it in two half’s. Your insurance is roughly £25 a month so again, not a lot considering you are caring for someone else dog/s and gaining income.

When you have a licence you get told how many dogs you can have due to the size of your property too, this is really important so there isn’t over crowding. This does not happen when no licence.

IMPORTANT - If you care for dogs in your home (or a place that’s not the dogs full time residence) - you are more likely going to NEED a licence!

We also recently did a little investigation/survey and 95% of the people we contacted on Rover etc have no licence and are putting pets at RISK!

You can go on the Cheshire East Council website and look up anyone advertising dog day care or boarding and view their licence number. If they are not on there, they don’t have a licence.

So, the take away from this is always ask about the licence!

🐶 So here’s a chance for a bit of a debate, would you consider leaving your pooch with an unlicensed boarder❌

Surely NOT having a licence is bit like a childminder that’s not been checked by OFSTED⁉️

Good afternoon lovely people!

Over the last few weeks we have had quite a lot of enquiries (100s) regarding our licenced (legal) dog boarding and a few people say oh that’s way to expensive or no way out my price range…

So we thought we would just ask you how much you would want to pay for your dog to stay in a home from home 🏡 when you are away on your holidays relaxing in the knowledge that they are loved and safe?

Your doggy comes in our home sleeps on our beds. Maybe if they do at home they might have accidents in our home as well…

We care for your doggy 24 hours a day. If you work out £35 for 24 hours and all the work and care that goes into looking after your doggy! So it’s not even £1.50 an hour. it’s a massive responsibility looking after people’s doggy’s and the well being of them!

When you consider the above you’re paying for luxury licenced home doggy boarding and your doggy is not kept in a kennel and can lay in front of a log fire in the evenings 🔥

They get free roam of the home and they are treated like family ❤️🐶

If you think about it logically would you get out of bed everyday to work for not even £1.50 an hour?? 🛌

We do to ensure that all our doggy’s are cared for and supported. They are fed/watered/exercises/engaged and all medications issued, alongside deep cleaning to ensure hygiene standards..

We’ve been asked for multi dog discounts, which if we were to do that would make our income less than £1.46 per hour….

Considering the above, do you think £1.46 p/h per dog is too much for your beloved dog to be loved in your absence?

Hope the above is not too negative, as it’s not meant to be it’s just a question of what do you think is a reasonable amount to pay for dog care and how much do you value our service and your peace of mind?

🐶 We open up our home and share it with the dogs so they feel as if they belong. The dogs are given 2 walks daily, plenty of garden access, playtime & enrichment toys, great cuddles, grooming and human interaction. The dogs make new doggy best friends in a small group of no more than five dogs, plus resident dogs at anyone time in the home. 🐶

We are DBS checked, with full insurance and dog first aid training in place.

The registration process:

Initially we do a free meet & great where we come to your home to meet your dog in their home and gather essential information so can provide the best care/service.

We do not accept visitors to our home until the above part of the registration process is complete.❤️

In this meeting we will cover any questions, provide T&Cs, complete registration & consent forms and providing everyone is happy we can book in for a trial overnight stay. 🖊️

An overnight trial is to ensure your dog is comfortable left in our home and settles well. If the trial is a success we require a 50% booking fee to then secure your dates for home boarding. 🏡
