My dogs had great fun at maddys mutts new Whatton field it’s enormous!!!
We really love getting fantastic reviews and more importantly fantastic results!! This pup was pulling so hard it was becoming unmanageable but in just 3 sessions and lots of hard work and dedication from her owner these two have smashed it!
“Had 3 sessions with Alex as my 9 month old RedSetter pup was a master puller on lead. Gentle instructions and rewards worked miracles although it was hard work. Can deal with Robyn much better now.excellent trainer and would highly recommend.”
Memories!
Bella was such a lovely mama to her pups! She loved to play with them!!
💕 Do you know what makes my day... 💕
When our customers are so overjoyed with the service and results they're seeing with their dog, that they take the time to tell us about it! 🤩
"As first-time dog owners we were keen to start off on the right foot. We purchased the six week puppy training package and Alex has been fantastic. She has a lovely approach to training, very knowledgeable and really did get the best out of our little puppy. Great with our young children and getting them involved with the training too.We already feel confident with her off the lead and her recall is amazing! We highly recommend Dotty Dog training, thank you Alex!"
I am so proud of what and this family have achieved during our time together.
Just look at the fantastic recall they have achieved as part of the one to one puppy school 🙌

Practising a chin rest with Ted, this is a great skill so that you can build up to giving medical treatments, this gives your dog the ability to communicate with you to tell you to stop. When he lifts his chin off I stop, when his chin is on the chair I continue.
Fantastic progress with loose lead walking for this little lady. She is a very strong little dog and was making it very difficult for her guardians to walk her, but they have put in such a lot of hard work and come on beautifully.
Yogi
This is my old boy Yogi he is 13 1/2 but still really enjoys a potter even though it’s more of a struggle these days as his legs aren’t what they used to be. He has arthritis in his back legs as well as his spine and has a drug list to be proud of!
More recently he has started to suffer with Canine cognitive dysfunction (CCD) it’s a type of doggy dementia that affects learning and memory and changes in awareness. Yogi has began to get disorientated and confused especially at night, which has lead him to barking because he gets scared of being on his own. He was pacing when left, It’s hard to watch when your old pal starts to get distressed so we have had to experiment a bit to find what works to make him feel comfortable. Sadly he can’t sleep in our room because he is a big lad (42kg) and can’t do the stairs, so we spent some time sleeping downstairs on the sofa with him to make him feel safe.
This last week we seem to have turned a corner, for now anyway and have had nearly a full week of peaceful nights. We have increased his enrichment in the day and are using some essential oils in a diffuser to make him feel calm, fingers crossed this keeps him feeling safe for now.
Let’s talk Recall!
A good Recall is such a fundamental skill for a dog to have. It gives them the freedom to explore and be a dog and gives owners the peace of mind that they will come back when they need them too.
A big mistake a lot of people make is to only recall their dog at the end of the walk, pop them on the lead and go home. All this teaches our dogs is that recall means I come back the fun ends and I go home!
We need to make sure that coming back is such good fun that our dogs just can’t wait for you to recall them! Make yourself fun and engage and play with your dog, make it worth there while to come back!
Practise at home first, so your dog can get it right, if you can’t get them back at home you have very little chance of getting them back on the park!

Working on a reverse at the moment, not quite there as he still needs to be able to do it on my voice without the hands but it’s coming along!
