After 7 amazing years, the sun has set on Paws Deep. This page has a mere sample of some of the fun we have had and the memories we have all made together. Thank you for everyone's kindness, trust and generosity in the last 7 years. We set off on an adventure and by gum has it been one heck of an adventure!! Don't ever under-estimate the trials and tribulations of a good dog walker, I've had more injuries and life lessons in the last 7 years than I could ever have imagined πŸ™ˆ but the laughs, love, moments of pure joy and satisfaction have been more than I could have asked for β€πŸ’™πŸΎ . Onto the next chapter for the McDowalls but Milo and Hector will still have us out and about so it is not goodbye and the leads and boots are still very much in action 😊

If there is anyone I haven't got to for anything in 2024, please give me a message if I've missed you.

Merry Christmas from our Paws to yours πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸΎ

We brought you home from the SSPCA in October 2009, little did we know you would become our rescuer πŸ’™πŸΎ you didn't belong to us, we belonged to you. You stole our hearts and now they are broken πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’” 14 years wasn't nearly enough, only forever would have been. You left your Sexy Dexy mark on everyone you met and there are no words to describe the void you have left in our family now you have gone. Milo and Evie don't know a life without Dexter and your Dad and I have never lived together without you! Through every up and down, through thick and thin, through every laugh or tear you have been by our side with unwavering love and loyalty.

I could crash Facebook with the sheer thousands of pictures and videos we have. Most of them are on my page anyway. Instead, we were fortunate enough to have a photoshoot done in August of last year at one of Dexters favourite places, Turnberry beach, just prior to his illness taking hold. Dexter was full of Life, character, personality and soul (even at 13) which I think Ewan the photographer captured wonderfully!! The only thing we can cling on to now are our memories as we navigate this unknown without our forever adored Sexy Dexy.

πŸ’™πŸΎ wreak havoc over rainbow Bridge handsome man, you've ignored those infamous words "Dexter, NO!" for the last time πŸ’™πŸΎ

It's been a wee while and things have got busier and sunnier....🌞😎

Loads of challenges and changes as ever but the biggest one being our eldest ,Dexter. I wish I could say the challenge was the same old "Dexter NO!!" but unfortunately that's not the case. At 14 years young, he's facing some health issues that we just can't quite seem to conquer πŸ˜• everyday is different and it's one day at a time so I have to confess to having been a bit distracted with it all...

I've picked the first photo deliberately though because on one of his poorly nights you will note Hector, our youngest, strategically placed himself in front of Dexter on the couch almost as if he was guarding him πŸ’™ it made me melt!!

Professionally my care, love and compassion for all of your furbabies is my priority but I wouldn't know how to do that or be that way if it wasn't for my own Boys πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸΎ they are our world and very much at the heart of our family.

Enjoy the sunshine while we have it everyone, wishing everyone a happy weekend 🌞😎

The harsh reality in the last picture for a small business like mine πŸ₯Ί When other people's ignorance and selfishness has more consequences than they give a toss about. Fly-tipping is forcing me out....literally.

I believe in dog WALKING. Going for a proper walk, particularly in the wonderful areas we have locally, where the relationship I have built and the effort I have put in with my dogs allows them to get full enrichment from a safe and enjoyable walk in the company of other dogs. Look at those happy faces🀩😁🐾!! I do this while striving not to disrupt or inconvenience anyone or any other thing in the process. This includes where I am able to walk and park safely. I am committed to being a valued and respected member of this community as a small business.

Yes it is a business and it is my only source of income to provide for my family as well. It is becoming harder and harder with the rise in the cost of living hitting all of my overheads as well as my own bills. Forcing me further and further away from my walks locally to continue to provide the service I believe in is getting harder. Turning up to that barrier on a Friday was soul destroying. I fully understand why it has been put in place, flytipping is a disgrace and I absolutely hate it, particularly because this is one of the significant consequences it has on me just trying to keep my head down and make a living πŸ₯ΊπŸ€·β€β™€οΈ Land owners and the Forestry Commission have every right to protect their land as they see fit to prevent these scumbags from getting away with their laziness and ignorance. I will continue to report it and rummage through as much rubbish as I need to to find details for these idiots to face the consequences of their actions!

I absolutely hate moaning! The dogs are unphased and unaffected by it all as you can see 🀣🀣 they keep smiling! I just need to come up with another plan to keep going 😁😁

Merry Christmas ya filthy animals!! πŸŽ„πŸŽ…

The steady decline in the last few months trying to keep things business as usual, despite fate having other ideas, has been intense πŸ™ˆ
As you know, I have been joint working on and off with Lynzi at Walk-n-Roll to cope with our various van issues, injuries and stresses but today was the final straw as her van gave up on us mid run too. Everything we seem to have tried has been either difficult or impossible and we end the year with 3 vans off the road, multiple injuries and significant financial pressures. Without her though, I would have been defeated weeks ago. At least together, we have managed to somehow keep laughing (questionable humour) but laughing nonetheless 🀣🀣 That level of support, attention and loyalty when you are self employed and on your own most days is irreplaceable and I am beyond grateful ❀

This break cannot come at a better time. Thank you, thank you, thank you to you all for your unwavering support and patience throughout and I hope you will join me in hoping for a more prosperous New Year in 2023 πŸ™πŸ€£

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from our family to yours πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸ₯‚

Temperature has well and truly dipped for us all. Dry and fresh but frought with danger underfoot! Not useful when you have a back injury πŸ™ˆ never thought I would say it but I have had more injuries doing this job than any other!! One of my lovely gang, who shall remain nameless, either didn't see me or thought he could run through me last week. He ran head first into the back of me with the impact going right through my lower back. I've been left in more pain than I thought would be possible and thoroughly embarrassed explaining it to professionals πŸ™ˆπŸ€£.

I do have the best job in the world when it's dry, warm, the dogs are all behaving well, playing nicely or just walking along together happily, the van is running well, the roads are clear and the birds are singing.

However, we live in Scotland so the weather can see 4 seasons in a 30 minute period, dogs are still dogs and can be unpredictable, out of sorts and crabbit for whatever reason that they can't verbalise or are just daft as a brush with zero f**** given. Transport Scotland, South Lanarkshire Council roads department or some other walloper driving a vehicle can cause travel disruption in the blink of an eye, my van is French so apparently unreliable and rather than the birds singing, some days they just fly overhead and take a big drippy crap right in front of me for reassurance!

"I love my job, I love my job, I love my job."

I hope this made you smile 😁

Well it's been a few months since I properly posted on the page but my absence here does not reflect reality. Having been able to keep everyone updated regularly for so long since the beginning of the business, our personal circumstances have changed significantly enough that I have been regrettably more neglectful on here recently. The Paws Deep gang remains as active as ever, if not more and keeping me on my toes every day but with added personal commitments, challenges and changes, I just don't have enough hours in the day or energy at times. Still taking pictures and videos here and there though but I cannot believe we are in late November already πŸ™ˆ

I've always had my Grans voice in my head telling me "What's for you, won't go by you" and with that in mind, in amongst some personally difficult events recently, we welcomed HECTOR πŸ’™ the red labrador into our family. It wasn't something we planned but circumstances arose and we felt like it was the right thing for us. Coincidentally, he is exceptionally handsome too 😜 Hector has settled in wonderfully and has felt like part of our family right from the start. Each day as we get to know him, we love him even more and hope that he feels the same. Dexter and Milo's immediate acceptance of him just made it seem meant to be and it is great to see their bonds forming too. It is a privilege to have our dogs and be able to have them by our side in the good days and the bad 🐾

It is also a great opportunity for me to practise what I preach and commit to Hectors training to solidify our bond and have another happy and thriving dog.....so far so good πŸ’™πŸΎ

Devastated to be doing this post....πŸ’”πŸ’”

In 2018, I got a message to my business page that would bring more to my life than I could ever have imagined. "Fergus's Mum" was preparing to socialise and train her 14week old Husky puppy.....

For those of you who know Lynzi from Walk-n-Roll and I well, you will know that that Husky puppy has led to:

Socialisation
Training
Adventuring
Swearing
Shouting
Counselling
Laughing
Drinking
Heartbreak
Honest conversation
Trance Friday
Friendship
Family
Trust
Tantrums
Teamwork

And so much more, it is irreplaceable.

To have to say goodbye to you for the last time Fuss is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, my heart is raw and aching πŸ’”it's the end of a huge chapter for Paws Deep and I know so many of your 4 legged pals will miss playing with you so much with us and at Walk-n-Roll.

My heart is aching for your family who adored you despite your Fussy ways πŸ’™πŸΎ Run free Fuss, two yips n a woof cuntybaws xx
