✈️ Back from my holidays ✈️

Slovenia was beautiful but back to Earth with a bit of a bump in that my phone gave up on me while I was away! 😫

Plus points:

1️⃣ My number is still the same and I have all my contacts back! 🤩

2️⃣ I have logged my replacement phone (my husband's old one!) into all my various messaging and business accounts! 🤯

3️⃣ I think I have now responded to all my messages and emails! 💪

Down side:

I have lost all old message threads and photos 😭

🥳 Yay! Look what came through this week!

😍 Very proud to be a member of the International Association of Animal Therapists

After 36+ hours of CPD over the last year IAAT have renewed my membership again for another 12 months 🤩

🐎 It's so important to me to be part of an industry recognised organisation.

🐴 It also helps give my lovely clients the peace of mind that there is a professional organisation ensuring that my insurance is up to date and that I am completing appropriate CPD to maintain industry standards 🥰

🤔 Did you know that the yellow tail ribbon seen at a British Showjumping competitions identifies a para rider?

I found this out from a friend, client and para rider just recently and thought it was something that should have more awareness! 🎗️

I'm sure that there are para riders that have received unfair comments/advice about their riding because of lack of awareness 🐎

All whilst working incredibly hard behind the scenes to enjoy their horses and excel at their sport 💪🏻

🐎🐴 Happy World Horse Appreciation Day! 🐴🐎

🥳 Today is a celebration of all horses and the impact they have on our lives! 🥳

❤️ My heart horse is and always will be Alaya (Ft. in all the post photos)

Many of you will have heard me talk about her, she was the best present my parents could have ever gifted me! 🥰

At the time she was a rather gangly weanling and I was an equally gangly 12 year old, people probably thought my parents were mad 😜

🫶 But in the 22 years we had together that mare supported me through everything......through the teenage years right through to parenthood and all the good and bad times in between!

She taught me responsibility, grit, hard work and fuelled a passion for animals......she then went on to spark the same love of animals in my little boy 💪

She is greatly missed but I am thankful that I still have lots of lovely horses in my life as nothing beats time with a horse to make everything feel better 🐴

Sorry I've been so absent on here lately! I really am rubbish with social media and I find it so easy to prioritise literally anything else! 🙈

👋 I get a lot of questions asking how Jasmin the goose is getting on so I though I would put an update here for you all

On week one she was really struggling to stand, walk or even lift her head up for any length of time. Her owner was very worried about her and wanted to do everything she could to help her 🤞

With a weekly PEMF session with me and lots of light therapy and TLC from her owner.......

🥳 Week 7 I get send this picture of her enjoying some breakfast with the other geese. She is now able to comfortably walk around the large pasture and even has enough balance to do this while grazing.

She interacts with the other geese, can preen herself and even remains balanced if the bigger geese send her on her way! 💪

Getting this kind of feed back from owners is one of the best things about my job! 🥰

🤩 I'm back from a fab time away with family!

Straight back out to clients tomorrow! I've missed that horsey smell 🐴🤣

I'm also heading to Cartmel Show on Wednesday!

🥳 Its always a cracking day out.......anyone else going to be there?

🤩 Me and my boy are off on a roadtrip to Wales and then Weymouth to see family.

Looking forward to some quality time with him while he still enjoys spending time with me in the school holidays 🥰

I am fully aware that the time will come when holidaying with Mum and his Grandparents will lose out to video games, friends and general teenager stuff 🙈

I am so sorry for my radio silence on here for the last couple of weeks 😅

Its been a busy time with end of school activities for the (not so) little guy, getting out to see some lovely clients and seemingly endless paperwork! 🤪

🙈To be honest social media has been on the back burner but I'm back on it.

I have a few posts already written and scheduled but if you have any burning animal physio questions that you would like answering, pop a message in the comments and I will try and answer them in upcoming posts 💪

Welcome to Topic Tuesday! 🥳

Today's topic is all about goals (and a little intro to Jasmin)! 💪

The lovely lady in the picture is Jasmin and she is a 14 year old part bred Canadian goose 😍

When her equally lovely owner rang me to say that Jasmin was struggling my initial response was "yeah of course I'll come and have a look"

To be honest I was unsure as to what I was going to do with my 1st feathered patient but one of my goals is to help animals, any animals.....so I did some research 💻

⭐️ Week 1 - on assessment Jasmin was sat with her wings down and I only saw her take a few wobbly steps

⭐️ Week 2 - she was wandering around her enclosure and looked so much more stable, I actually asked where she was as I didn't recognise her

⭐️ Week 3 - she was out in the big field with the other geese

Jasmin is receiving weekly PEMF sessions (it's amazing to see a goose get so relaxed that they actually fall asleep 😴) and her owner is complementing these with daily light therapy sessions

While chatting with her owner, she said to me that she just wants Jasmin to be comfortable and to be able to walk down to the stream to bathe and back up the slope to the field 💪

It dawned on me what an amazing goal that was and how it will feel for her owner (who puts so much time and effort into looking after her animals) and for me as a physio to be able to see that happen 🥰

Whether it's rehabilitation or training (or even developing animal physio businesses🤪) it's so important to have achievable goals to work towards 💪

Welcome to Fact Friday! 🥳

🤔 Did you know that today is National Take Your Dog to work day? 🐕🐶

When we first got our little dog it was my plan to bring him in the car with me and to stop off for nice long walks in the lovely scenery I drive through on my travels to see you all 🐕🚗

The reality is my rescue pup is suspicious of the world and would absolutely hate meeting lots of new people and spending so much time in the car 😅🐶

So take your dog to work day for me involves him curling up on the sofa with me while I write reports and send invoices 🤣

Do you take your dogs to work with you? I would love to see pictures of them enjoying a work day! 🐕🐶

🤔 Did you know that the Pet Blood Bank UK is running low on their life-saving blood reserves.

🩸Nobody likes to think of a dog needing emergency care or surgery but if they did your dog could be the lifesaver they need!

🩸Does your dog fit these requirements:

🐶 Fit and healthy
🐶 Confident in meeting new people
🐶 Between one and eight years old
🐶 More than 25kg in weight
🐶 Not travelled outside of the UK

🩸If so they could become a blood donor and lifesaver!

🥰 Unfortunately my little pooch misses out on quite a few of these criteria and if yours does too please consider sharing this post then we can help spread the word!

❗️ Blood stocks are low

Lifesavers are urgently needed for our remaining June sessions!

With the weather turning lovely and sunny, we’ve noticed a significant drop in people coming along to recent donation sessions and our blood stocks for both positive and negative are critically low as a result.

If you can bring your dog to donate over the next few weeks, please book an appointment via our app or by calling 01509 232 222.

As the holiday season is just starting to get underway, please remember that demand for blood remains high despite it being summer. We need our lifesavers more than ever to ensure we continue to have blood available for any dog that might need it 🙏☀

To be a donor, your dog needs to be:

🐶 Fit and healthy
🐶 Confident and enjoy meeting new people
🐶 Between one and eight years old
🐶 Weigh more than 25kg
🐶 Have never travelled abroad

Please share this post to help us spread the word to as many people as possible.
