Decided to use our English heritage membership today on a visit to Stone henge, Dogs are allowed on many of their sites.
The family were very pleased to find designated motorhome parking spaces which means none of the usual arm waving and shouting usually involved in a car park.
We couldn't have picked a better autumn day for a visit as it turned out warm and sunny, which is just as well because dogs are allowed in the cafe and shop but not on the bus to the site. So a 30 minute walk for us which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Unfortunately when we reached the monument I wasn't allowed in there either, what a yawn, but did get to walk a parallel path around some of it, come to think about it that was probably for the best as I don't think I would have been able to resist watering the stones.
Back to the visitor centre, We walked back over the fields and woods which was even better as I could run free. I hoovered up the remainder of the families cream tea in the very busy cafeteria, then a bit of dog/people swapping so they could visit the exhibition, I ask you what's the point of all those bones if you don't get to chew them?

Camping can be a deliciously muddy adventure which usually ends with me being scrubbed down outside with a bucket of Luke warm water. Imagine my relief that Chertsey have now installed a special shower just for us dogs. I'm still not sure I like it much but a huge improvement, lots of lovely warm water, easy access with steps and a good solid base, the family loved not having to stoop over to wash me, oh and the Tropiclean shampoo left me smelling nicely of Tangerines 🫧🫧🫧 All ready for my next walk.
Great job CCC Chertsey.

I've had a bad eye over the weekend so a visit to the vets was necessary. Thankfully a last minute appointment was available at the Shepperton branch Beech House Vets who kindly registered me as a temporary patient.
Pedro gave me a thorough check up, which left me looking very spooky(not my best look) before diagnosing an eye ulcer. I think I scratched it while sniffing around on camp. Anyway, I'm feeling much better now and would like to thank all the staff for looking after me so well, (although I wouldn't have minded meeting the stray staffie they were looking after until her owners could be located ) 10/10 for service.
