Honestly this horse makes me burst with pride every ride!! He is such an honest little trier. Don’t get me wrong he can have his moments but then we all can but from the sk**ky little ugly ropey thing I pulled out of a meat field to the horse he has become he literally is one in a million and my absolute ❤️ horse!! I feel that as Harry has stepped down from being the rosette machine Uno stepped up to the job and is succeeding 🥇and yes it’s still only small but today I had no twitchy bum hole moments which means it’s time to up the heights 😬😬😬 and I’m actually beginning to enjoy this jumping lark 🤣

Standard Monday morning hacking behaviour 🤣 it was midday somewhere in the world anyway it was Dutch courage for riding a freshly clipped Uno without lunging first and he’d had 3 days off!! 🤣🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

Back to what he loves best today 🥰 and our rideable streak continues it’s only taken 7 years to be able to sit back and wait for a fence rather than gunning round like a bat out of hell and just hoping we survived the course 🤣 or maybe he’s just finally growing up my little Wooknob

So tonight was fun we tried something different. So side saddle has always been on my bucket list but I must admit not on this horse 🤣 I had visions of looking very elegant on my arm chair Harry but instead I opted for the sound horse 🤦🏼‍♀️ my bouncy Wooknob but he was a good boy and didn’t cut any shapes and I didn’t eat sand so all in all very productive. Don’t mind my concentration/oh s**t face 🤣🤣 sooooo photogenic

I swore I wouldn’t get sucked in to the EQUIDRY hype but I’m in love with my new birthday present coat. After my poor Sam shield was no longer keeping me dry at the end of last winter it was time for a new winter coat and it is toasty! Yet to put it to the waterproof test but let’s be honest I’m a bit of a fair weather rider nowadays so…🤷🏼‍♀️ but how strange that this time last week it was boiling and I was sleeveless riding and now wrapped up in a literal sleeping bag to ride in today 🤣 the delights of our English weather system for you!!

So our first lesson back since Uno had his suicidal thoughts and kept trying to kill himself!! And what a good boy he was he’s had a long time off and yet again another setback to getting out and about again. But off to a good start!! Thank you Susannah for another wonderful lesson ☺️

This horse has absolutely no idea what he’s put me through over the last 24hrs when I was at the summit of Scafell pike receiving frantic calls that I needed to get home for a Wooknob emergency 😱 I sprinted down that mountain leaving my friends at the top followed by a 7 Hr drive home! My body is broken and I’m exhausted but anything for my baby 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️🥰

Took Uno out jumping again yesterday. 2 weekends on the trot!! There’s normally a good 6 months between pony parties for us but he was such a good boy! Upped the height a tad and outside to test if my new brakes were still working. Clear and 3rd in our first class but a couple of unlucky poles in our 2nd and we made the mistakes we needed to as when he tanks off with me and starts jumping flat he’s going to hit poles (which he doesn’t like doing) so hopefully he’ll bare that in mind next time he thinks about overriding my controls and doing it all himself 🤣 but overall very pleased with my special boy. 🥰🥰

Another training trip for Uno today. Went over to Brook Farm and really feel finally we might be finding our rhythm and our courses are getting slightly less chaotic and terrifying than his usual ”piss of mum I know what I’m doing” at the point where I hold my breath shut my eyes and hope I stay on with little to no control between the fences 🤣. Now to get this boy out competing again. 💪🏼

So my beautiful boy has still got it. He’s not been in the ring for well over a year. Went out at the weekend and he cleaned up! Winning both classes and coming home reserve ridden champion! Even in his scruffy winter phase. So hoping to continue my productive streak and do more with the boys! this weekend we’re training with wooknob again and feeling like I’m beginning to enjoy competing again ###

So Uno and I went for a arena XC lesson today over at beechwood testing out our new brakes!! So now I have a bit more control between the fences again next time I can start upping the heights again. Love this little horse so much 🥰

My handsome boys! Had to sort UNOs mane again today as it was annoying me. I try every year to grow his mane out so he looks a little bit more “Spanish” but every winter no matter what I try we lose the bottom half in his rugs. So we will stick to the showjumping look after all!!
