Today is International Dog Day 2024.

Here are some ways to celebrate International Dog Day 2024:
❤️ Show your dogs love: Give your dogs lots of affection, treats, or toys. You could also take them on an adventure, or give them a spa day with a bath, brushing, and nail trimming.
🐶 Adopt a dog: Consider adopting a dog from a local animal shelter.
Donate or volunteer: You could donate to a dog-related cause, or volunteer your time to help animals in need.

What is enrichment for a dog?

The key to a happy and healthy dog is regular enrichment and allowing them to engage in their innate behaviors, such as playing, chasing, smelling, chewing and scavenging. By allowing your dog to engage in these behaviors, you allow them to be physically, emotionally and mentally satisfied.

☀️HOT PAVEMENT WARNING☀️

🔸HOW TO CHECK🔸
The best way to tell if a pavement is too hot for your dog to walk on is to place the back of your hand on the pavement for seven seconds. If it’s too painful for your hand, then it’s too painful for your dog’s paws.

If you notice that your dog is limping, looking uncomfortable, or whimpering, then look at the bottom of their paws and check the temperature of the pavement with the back of your hand. If your dog’s paws look red, swollen, or blistered, then it’s important that you quickly take them off the hot pavement and contact your vet for advice as soon as possible.

Jeff's been a part of the K-nine family for a couple of weeks now, and today, I had a very special job to do with him. Transport him to his pawrents wedding reception. Doesn't he look smart.

Last week saw Asby come and stay at K-nine headquarters.

She enjoyed sunbathing and sitting at Ben's feet. She must have a really bad sense of smell as there is no way I'd be anywhere near those feet!

Earlier this week, I caught up with the youngest member of the K-nine family, Coby.
He's certainly grown in the month since my last visit however its hard to tell underneath all that fur. He is now going out for short walks and doing great with his training.

Another day with the weather being confused!! Sunny one minute and then a rain storm the next!

The girls were excited to see their first "real life snake" (rather than one in a zoo), unfortunately, the poor thing had been run over. 😢
