Please see the following the link to create an account https://st-teresas-equestrian.ecpro.co.uk/ STE is based on site at St Teresa's School and started up on 2015. We are open to riders of all ages and abilities, teaching in dressage and show jumping in our lovely 30x60m arena. We follow the same values as St Teresa’s School, including the belief that there is no ‘one size fits all’ and that indiv

iduals, both human and equine, should be treated as such. Our horses, our riders and our coaching staff are all unique in their backgrounds, skills and experience, and we take great care to fit the horse to the rider and coach appropriately. Operating 12 months of the year, 7 days a week: 6 days a week with the STE horses and ponies, and those with their own ponies stabled off-site may bring them to the school to use the facilities on Sundays. We run private and semi-private lessons all year round, and Pony Days and onsite competitions in the holidays. STE is a BHS approved riding school, as well as a Pony Club Centre and avid participants of the NSEA (National Schools Equestrian Association). Rosie C headed to the famous Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool for the Amateur and Veteran Championships last week.
It was her and her horses first time at the show which had such a big atmosphere, and although they knocked a couple of unlucky poles here and there, they pulled through for a clear at the end of the week.
Not only did Rosie get to ride in the amazing arena, around the grand national gallops with a close look at the almighty Bechers Brook, she also got to meet the Legendary John Whitaker and received his autographed book with his words of advice "Keep trying your best".
What an amazing experience, well done Rosie!

Such impressive results, well done girls!

We were so impressed with how well the girls did in the NESA National Championships at the beginning of the half term and have given out some additional rewards of our own to recognise the great qualities of our many riders.

The Junior award was awarded jointly to Electra B and Ivy M. Although the youngest members of the team, they were mighty! Their energy and enthusiasm knew no bounds, they were diligent in their preparation and stepped in without hesitation to jump additional rounds when asked.

The Senior award went to Lily S. Lilly was consistently diligent in her preparation, keen to take the learnings from every round and although already riding for the team with two horses, was always happy to do more when needed!

The Team Managers award was to recognise someone who stood out as a real team player, as well as all the other qualities required of a great horsewoman. Rosie C was all of these and more. We received much feedback from parents enthusing about how she helped with the younger team members, she rode an amazing round in her 1-metre class and helped with another team member's horse that was being difficult to ride. She also put together the amazing video of the Championships!

Well done, everyone, you should all be so proud!

The NSEA team went out competing on Sunday 10th November in the County and Hickstead Elite Championship Qualifiers at Felbridge.
The 80cm Show Jumping team (Electra B, Lottie B, Rosie C and Lilly S) came fifth overall and were Surrey County Champions, qualifying them for the Inter County Championships at Hickstead in May!
The 1m Show Jumping team (Amber B, Chloe B, Jess R and Antonia S) came second overall and were Surrey County Champions, qualifying them for the Inter County championships at Hickstead, as well as the Hickstead Elite 1m Championship in May!
Amber B also won this class individually and was therefore the individual Surrey County Champion and gaining her individual qualification for the Inter County Championships.
What fantastic results!!

🎉12 members of our NSEA team set off for 4 days of stiff competition against the very best equestrian teams from schools across the whole of the United Kingdom that had qualified across the last year to gain a place at the NSEA National and Plate Championships. Hundreds of pupils and their magnificent equine partners convened in Buckinghamshire at one of the UK’s premier equestrian venues, steeped in equestrian heritage, Addington Equestrian.🎉
⭐In the Show Jumping, the 70 cm Pink Team (Electra B, Florence B, Harriet L, Olivia S) managed a very respectable 15th out of 26 places and Olivia was individually 13th out of 67. Ivy went clear for 44/67 in the individual rankings.
80cm Pink Team (Ivy M, Lilly S, Rosie C) had a couple of unlucky poles down left them in 21st place out of 43.
80cm Blue Team (Electra B, Olivia S, Lilly S) took some risks in their rounds that accrued some points which left them in 29th out of 43 places.
90cm Pink Team (Lilly S, Electra B, Rosie C) had some poles down to leave them in 28th out of 34th position.
90cm Blue Team (Amber B, Chloe B, Lilly S and Ivy M) did an absolutely amazing clear and fast first round to put them into the top 8 which qualified them for the top 8 jump off where they ultimately came 5th out of 34!
1M Class Both Amber B and Rosie C rode absolutely beautifully clear rounds. Amber who was individually qualified came 13th out of 68.
1.10 M Class Amber B was individually qualified for this class and came in the top 8 in the first round to make the jump off and come 7th overall!
⭐In the Jumping with Style, in the 70cm Electra B was individually qualified and did an absolutely smashing round with just one unfortunate refusal placing her 19th out of 25. 80 cm Lilly S was individually qualified and rode an amazing round to be placed 4th out of 36! 90cm Lilly S was again individually qualified and rode another amazing, just having an unfortunate run out at the last placing her 20th out of 39.
⭐In the Combined Training, 1M Antonia S did a superb dressage test followed by a clear show jumping round to come 4th overall!
⭐In the Plate Show Jumping, 70cm Ivy M was individually qualified and rode a super clear round to come 16th.
90 cm Blue Team (Lilly S, Electra B, Ivy M, Rosie C) came 5th overall and Rosie who had also individually qualified came 4th!

We are very happy to share that the school equestrian team was out competing again on the last weekend of September and had some fantastic firsts as well as results:
Firstly, for the first time ever, we had enough riders to make up a dressage team; Claudia B, Electra B and Lilly S all rode lovely dressage tests to get placed as a team in 4th place and Lilly as an Individual in 6th place. What a wonderful start for them and a fantastic position to build from!
Secondly, we had new riders out competing for the first time who all got placed in their classes!! Fenella B (3rd in the 60cm), Lyla B (3rd in the 70cm) and Sophia S (4th in the 70cm) did an amazing job and qualified for the Grass Roots Regional Finals as well as the Grassroots Championships at Hickstead in August.
Well done everyone!

Horses have a wider thermoneutral zone than humans do. This means that when the temperature is between 5°C and 25°C, a healthy horse can maintain a comfortable temperature. A human's zone is between 25-30°C. Whilst a human might feel cold and need to wear a coat, a horse won't need a rug until it's much colder!
Did you know that over rugging a horse can actually risk them overheating and is now considered a welfare issue?

We have about 15 level 3 body protectors that are all the old 2009 standard that we can no longer use in the riding school. Most of them are hardly worn and it would be such a shame to just put them in the bin.
If anyone wants them, please let me know. A small donation would be lovely, get some carrots for the ponies.
