Fido's Treat Fido's treat has been walking your dogs since 2000. Fido's Treat is a small, friendly, well established Dog Walking Service.

It has gone through many changes oner those years, but several things which have always remained consistent are its reliability, trustworthiness, quality, and care of your dogs throughout the years. Founded in 2000, it has provided the dogs of Headingley and Meanwood with a wonderfully reliable, safe but fun walk, in the company of other friendly and well socialised dogs. All in the beautiful surr

oundings of The Hollies and Meanwood Park. With only 2 walks a day (always an hour), and just a small area covered, places are limited . However, once you've made it onto the register, your place is secure and your dog can look forward to regular enjoyable, woodland walks for as long as is needed.

It's extremely rare that I *misplace* a dog, as they generally don't want to let me out of their sights for more than a minute. However, yesterday Red Poppy disappeared while we were in the woods, so today I decided I'd put a flexilead on her when we went that way again. Everything was going great, until the clever little tinker soon convinced me that she was safe to come off to play with the others. Well, all I can say is I obviously have MUG tattooed on my forehead, as 5 minutes later she disappeared again.
I found her 10 minutes later with the local childminder and her small group of sweet children enjoying their lunch on a log. Poppy was busy hoovering up the grass around them 🤦‍♀️
Thankfully, we're all familiar with each other, and they were happy with Red Poppy's playf antics and company until I arrived.

So Poppy! It will be lead walking in the woods for a little while, but I'll do my best to make it worth your while 😊

Whan the Cavapoo's become the Cavatwo's.
Or when Red Poppy met Autumn ❤️+❤️
It was mostly fun all round. Rocket did his cheerleading. Granny Pops kept an eye on the gang from the outskirts, and Kipling kept the squirrels safely in the trees.

Say a big hello to Autumn 🙋🏼‍♀️

It was her first walk with us today, and it was quite the roller coaster for her.
After a 90 minute meet and greet last week, where she was glued to my lap for most of it, when I collected her today and removed her from her house, poor Autumn was convinced I was some evil character from a scary book, who was dog-napping her! For half an hour she just wanted to go home.
Then we discovered roads and pavements covered in fallen leaves (I'd been warned about this). Suddenly, she transformed into an overexcited pup, lunging at the road to capture all the leaves.
20 minutes and two more dogs later, we left the roads which meant she was safe to go on a flexilead instead, and she began to enjoy her company and surroundings.
By the time we arrived at Meanwood Park, she was desperate to play with Freddy, and other passing pups, and was now returning eagerly to me when I called her, so I was now confident we both trusted each other enough for her to be allowed to run free....!

And we had the best walk and play ❤️.
Tomorrow she gets to meet Red Poppy (our other Cavapoo of the same age) and Rocket.
I'm so looking forward to it 😊

After two weeks of daily walks with Tayga, today was my last.
I've so enjoyed taking this bonkers boy out every day with Kip, but with daylight hours being so short, and me taking on two extra dogs for work, I just can't manage that extra hour and a half in the late afternoon.

However, I'm going to continue with weekend walks until his old mum's arm is out of plaster.
I've really enjoyed the time we've spent together each day though. Tayga always leaves me grinning from ear to ear.

So hear was today's walk where we celebrated Kip's 9th birthday, and we bumped into Narla, a 6 month old lab, for a play.

Friday walkies, and most of the dogs were able to enjoy the sunshine and return home before the weather turned.
Thankfully it was only Kip and I who got drenched 👍

Rocket was on top form again, the two Poppies were full of life, and Kipling was his usual well-behaved self.

All the dogs were so happy today.
Rocket was back to his old self, with a bouncy spring in his feet. Red Poppy followed me eagerly, asking for treats. This is the first time she's shown any real interest in food. Kip charged around while off lead, but when he saw something suspicious in the distance, and stiffened in anticipation of a chase, I asked him to wait and sit, and I was then gobsmacked when he actually did.
And Freddy and Granny Pops were their usual angelic, joyful selves.
The weather was fabulous and so were all the pups 🩵❤️🩵❤️🩵

This morning was a struggle getting Rocket to the park. He was collapsing while I put his boots on, then fell a couple of times on the few minutes stroll to the park. However, once there, and his boots had been removed, the old Rocket resurfaced and I got my wonderful collie friend back. I made the decision to avoid the woods though, just in case it was too difficult for him, but he returned to his usual, excitable, noisy self, snd we all enjoyed a lovely, spirited walk 🩵❤️🩵

The rain held off, and it wasn't too cold, so we had a lovely muddy splosh through the park and woods today 😊

I'm so excited to be meeting a new dog on Tuesday, who will hopefully be starting her walks with us next week.
Another 1 year old red Cavapoo, called Autumn.
Apparently, her present 90 minute walk a day just isn't enough for her, so she'll be starting her epic 3hr adventures with us, three times a week, next week.
I have my fingers crossed for some particular best buddy time, with Freddy and Red Poppy ❤️
