Fido's Treat

Today, Eli and Kip returned to our walk 😊
Admittedly Kip was restricted to leash walking to save wear and tear on his legs again, but thankfully they both got through the walk with 4 good legs each.
And we all enjoyed it despite the nonstop drizzle and freezing temperatures.
We're such a tough bunch.

This sounds like a real cause for concern.

The standard practice in the UK is to advise a preventative approach, treating pets every couple of months even if they don’t have fleas.

But flea treatments include powerful insecticides that have been found to leach off pet fur – and the hands of their owners – into waterways. A recent study also found that songbirds are inadvertently killing their young by making nests out of contaminated pet fur.

There is growing concern about the impact these treatments are having on biodiversity. Imidacloprid and fipronil, for example, are powerful insecticides: one monthly flea treatment for a large dog contains enough imidacloprid to kill 25 million bees.

My very favourite Fido's treat video.
Filmed 11 years by my incredibly talented son, and I clearly remember each and every dog like it was yesterday.
I'd just like to add that the star of the video was Bracken. A beautiful German Shepherd I'd walked from a puppy, until her amazing owner tragically died too young, and Bracken then became my own girl at the age of 11, until her own demise a couple of years later ❤️

I often hear from broken people who have lost their beloved companion, that the grief is too hard to bear, and thay can never put themselves through that again. Thankfully, most people eventually succumb to their longing for a dog again, and I think this is a beautiful way to look at it ❤️

Today we had a change of canine chemistry.
I've had to remove Kipling from the walks for a few days due to a limp which isn't improving. Well all the pups kept gazing around waiting for the usual Sprollie explosion, but without his presence, it all remained fairly tranquil. Fido's treat was becalmed.
I'm hoping to make the most if it until he rejoins us.... 🙏

Our amazing Fido pack consists of a total of 6 dogs.
Two of them are my own free-loading boys (Eli & Kipling), then there are Edna and Poppy who come out 5 days a week, and Rocket and Fred who join us 3 days a week.

Here are all 6 of them on one of our daily Meanwood Park gallivanting jaunts

Hello everyone.
Just a message to say that I'm going to start using this page as a business page again, after many years of sadly letting it go almost untended, and putting my business photos and videos on my personal page for people to view.
