Storm has been waiting 108 days to find a home. 😢 She’s a lap-loving purry lady who loves her cuddles. ♥️ At 8 years old Storm struggled to settle in the cattery - she barely ate and became quite shut down. 😢

She’s been much happier in her foster home but sadly they have a pre booked holiday. Her fosterer tells us she’s a sweetie who is at her cuddliest on a night - especially when her fosterer wears a cosy dressing down or clothes she can really snuggle into and begin her purring and making tiny biscuits routine with her little paws. 🖤🤍

Storm is looking for a home with adults or older children with no other pets please - could you help her become such a happy girl that you consider renaming her Sunny ☀️ and see her transform into a ‘Maspurr’ chef as she practices making paw biscuits on your knee so often! ♥️

🐾 Apply to adopt Storm by completing her application form: https://www.cats.org.uk/findacatform/?b=420&ncid=35047

Please be as quick as you can - we’re trying to find her a new foster home but if we can’t she’ll have to go back into the cattery which we worry would really upset her again. 😢

🐾 Since being in foster Storm has also rediscovered her love of eating and loves Thrive salmon with tuna and Applaws senior salmon with tuna. So even if you’re not able to adopt her - just sharing her post can make such a difference to how quickly she finds a home. If you’d like to treat Storm to her favourite feast we’ve added it to our Amazon wish list: https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/1PQZO4G7F44T3?ref_=wl_share

Thank you 🙏

The very happiest of updates and the first of 2025! 🐱♥️ From all alone by a motorway to a true friend and a loving home for life!

Little Fizz was found alone on the slip road of the motorway at just a month old. He’s grown so much and genuinely thrived in care. After being worried about his future initially he soon became a little bundle of energy - look how far he has come after such a horrible start ❤!

Fizz now spends his days cuddling with his new family and making sure his humans are never lonely (and their knee is always cosy! 🥰)

Here’s what his family told us,

“Fizz has been settling in wonderfully and adapting to his new home. It's hard to believe it's only been a week since he became part of our family, he's already brought so much joy and love into our lives.

In the first few days, when he started exploring his new environment, he was quite sensitive to noises. But now, he’s much more adapted and isn’t as sensitive as before. He loves playing on the cat tree, running around and playing with his toys. He also enjoys purring and cuddling with us during bedtime. We bought a bed for him with his blanket and he slept in it during the first few days. However, now it seems he prefers my bed and my sleeping gown instead. He’s become quite the clingy and talkative little one now! 🥰

While my Mum and I are at work, my retired Dad stays at home alone during the day, and he can sometimes feel lonely or a bit down. Since Fizz arrived, he’s been talking about him non-stop, and I truly believe that Fizz has been a great comfort to him. We’re so glad that Fizz has taken such a liking to us and we appreciate everything you did to care for him during his more difficult days.

Thank you once again for everything. Merry Christmas to the team!”

Receiving updates like this make all the difficult times in the year - such as when cats are abandoned at our gates or arrive very poorly so worthwhile and we feel so grateful to have been part of Fizz’s fantastic journey- look at that content face! Thank you to Fizz’s new family for making him the happy feline we see in these photos! Wonderful! ✨

Look how excited he is! Krumpet is the first cat of 2025 to find his forever home! ♥️

Here are a few more of our cats who are longing for a fresh start this year and a chance to find their forever family:

🐾 Henry and Tinkerbell have ultra soft fur and gentle personalities to match. They started their hunt for a new home before Christmas and hope it’s not long before someone chooses them ♥️: https://www.cats.org.uk/findacatform/?b=420&ncid=37304

🐾 Moo is a confident, friendly lady who loves everyone she meets and is happiest when she’s having cuddles. She’s only a year old and hopes her happily ever after is just around the corner: https://www.cats.org.uk/findacatform/?b=420&ncid=38124

🐾 5 year old tabby boy Stripey (can you guess where he got his name!?) was struggling when he first arrived and more than a little disheveled. Now he knows he’s safe and will always be given food he’s turning into a happy, friendly boy - now he just needs a home to call his own 🤞🏻: https://www.cats.org.uk/findacatform/?b=420&ncid=38593

🐾 Sydney sadly had to come back to us after her owner had to go into a nursing home. At 13 years old she’s not finding it easy to adapt to the cattery environment, so we’re hoping it’s not long before she finds her forever snooze spot and loving lap to cuddle on: https://www.cats.org.uk/findacatform/?b=420&ncid=38512

🐾 Stunning tortie Purdy is 9 and loves attention. She lets you know when she’d like cuddles and purrs to tell you when you’ve found her favourite scritches spot 🧡🖤: https://www.cats.org.uk/findacatform/?b=420&ncid=38594

🐾 Monochrome kitten Venus is slowly coming out of her shell and showing us what a truly lovely girl she is 🥰: https://www.cats.org.uk/findacatform/?b=420&ncid=38410

🐾 Oreo and Cinders are a beautiful bonded pair - they’re 15 years old and hopeful that it won’t be long before someone chooses them and they find their dream quieter home. They’ll make someone such special companions 🛋️: https://www.cats.org.uk/findacatform/?b=420&ncid=37745

Please apply to adopt any of the cats featured in this post by clicking on the link at the end of their description. They can’t wait to meet you - maybe this weekend if you’re super quick submitting them! 🤞🏻

What a year it’s been! 🥳 There have been some lows… but happily, lots of highs too with a fantastic 292 adoptions in 2024, including some of our long-stay cats!

🎁 Cats who were not lucky enough to find homes before Christmas were treated to some generous gifts donated by a kind person known only as ‘Santa Paws’. They made such a difference to their festive period and were so, so appreciated. 🐾

🎄 Thank you also to everyone who contributed to our Christmas raffle that raised a fantastic £437 for cats and kittens in our care. Fundraising events like these ensure we can keep helping cats in need into 2025 and beyond - every donation, no matter how small goes to our cats and makes a genuine difference! ✨

📸 Here are a few of our cats adopted this year, the wonderful Christmas gifts donated and our lovely raffle winner Pat who is also one of our fantastic volunteers who gives up her spare time to support the branch in any way she can.

So for every shared post, every post like, every donation and every message of support in 2024 - from all of us, to all of you, THANK YOU! We couldn’t do what we do without you. ♥️ 🐱Happy New Year! 🥳

The update you’ve all been waiting for and the very last of the year! After 124 days with us, Jasper found his forever home just in time to share the festivities with his new family! 🎄

Jasper first came into our care back in March after his owner of 12 years was moving abroad and couldn’t take him with them. 🖤Jasper had only ever lived with his previous owner for his whole life and found the change very difficult, consequently he struggled to settle in the cattery.

Sadly Jasper had a couple of homes that didn’t work out during his time with us and so had a lot of change and upheaval to deal with. Luckily he was able to spend some time with one of our fosterers and enjoyed the luxury of a spell in our behaviour room.

Jasper was on daily pain relief for arthritis, and very sadly had to have one of his eye removed - though this didn’t affect his rugged good looks!

Jasper could be a cat of mixed moods and sometimes preferred his own space but if you were one of his chosen people, he was such an affectionate and loving cat. ♥️ Jasper had experienced such changes in his senior years and needed a very special and understanding home, especially after he had already been brought back into care before.

With a special plan from our behaviour team for visits with Jasper, and a very lovely and understanding new family who took a shine to Jasper, all his dreams came true and he is now part of a family again, and very much loved after such a tough time ❤.

His family told us,

“Jasper is doing amazingly, he's really settled in and really come out of his shell. He's very vocal and enjoys lots of cuddles. He's been jumping up on everything and seems like he wants to climb constantly!

Thank you so much again for introducing us to Jasper, he is perfect for us.”

🐾 And now his three week update as he neared a month in his new home:

“‘3 weeks has flown by! Hope you are all well! Jasper is still doing very well, been having a lot more cuddles and seems very relaxed! Christmas presents have been brought and I'm sure he will be sneaking in some turkey presents! I will continue to send pictures, my camera roll is full of them!”

And we think his adopters are purrfect for him. We couldn’t be happier that they’ve found each other and Jasper can feel confident that he’s finally found ‘his’ perfect people and of course - his happurrly ever after!

We’ve got some really happy news to share! ✨ After 215 days in care - beautiful Bobby has gone home, just in time for Christmas! 🎄 Have you ever seen a happier boy?! ♥️

Bobby first came into our care in May after his previous owner could no longer care for him. He’s a familiar and much- loved face with staff and volunteers. If there was an award for the longest drool after happy purring - Bobby would win (paws down!) It’s been such a long and patient wait to reach this point for Bobby.

He was lucky enough to spend some of his time in care with one of our wonderful fosterers who took him under their wing in September, and he has enjoyed the luxury of his foster home ever since (with a short spell at Gildersome recently).

We would like to say a big ‘Thank You’ to his fosterer for taking such loving care Bobby and helping him get to reach his ready for homing status as it’s been a long journey! ♥️ Bobby had ongoing issues with his skin which were finally resolved with the right medication but it took a lot of trials and both progress and some set-backs - all whilst keeping the hope that he would get to where he is today eventually…and he has! We couldn’t be happier for him! 🖤

Following a social media appeal and so many people kindly sharing his post - interest in Bobby flooded in and after careful consideration (there were quite a few applicants who we’re sure would have given Bobby a loving home ♥️) his perfect match was found and he is now on his way home to spend Christmas and the rest of his senior years with his new family.

This truly is the gift all the team hoped we’d get for Christmas and you made it happen - such a big thank you to everyone who shared his post and everyone who offered him a home. You’ve made such a difference to Bobby and made sure he had a home for Christmas! Thank you - thank you - thank you! ✨

Here’s a very special update from Kevin the Carrot! After being found as a stray in Bradford, he’s absolutely loving his new life, complete with his very own luxury catio! 🧡

This is a rare opportunity to bring you not only a family update but also an update from Kevin himself!

‘Just providing an update on the wonderful Kevin Carrot.

He has been for a manicure this week to have his nails clipped. He was very well behaved and seemed to quite enjoy it.

He is certainly coming out of his shell now and likes to zoom around the house chasing balls and toy mice !!! 🐭

He likes to sit on the window sill and watch the world go by.

He loves his sleep and prefers to take over the bed when he can…. Until around 1.30 am when he wants to play and walk across the pillows 😂.

He likes to sit with me whilst I work and sometimes likes to try to work on the computer himself.

He had a bit of a poorly tummy last week but we think it may be because we caught him drinking out of the washing up bowl. 🙈

Carrot loves his food and is very clean and tidy.We think he has also grown. Hope you like his pictures.’

And from Kevin….

“Meow….. Kevin The Carrot here - they also call me Ginge 😂🧡

Just to let you know that I am doing really well and eating a lot as I am growing quickly. I enjoy my biscuits the best.

I drink lots of water, especially when it’s hot too.

My mum has had the most amazing outdoor space built for me so I can go outside whenever I like but keep really safe.

I love my new “Catio”, especially as the cats next door have one too and we can talk to each other through the fence. My friend next door is called Franklin and he is a big Maine Coon…. My purr is still very sweet whilst his is very deep.

I have lots of things to do in my Catio - steps, ledges, boxes, ropes and I am loving my life and have plenty of toys to play with and getting used to being picked up and lots of cuddles.

Keep in touch

Carrot…” 🐾

He’s one lucky boy! It’s absolutely wonderful to see him living his best life - the life and love he’s always deserved. Thank you to his new family for keeping us informed of his progress and letting us know what a happy boy he is now. ❤

Bobby has been in care 210 days. 😢 At 9 years old he finds the cattery stressful and withdraws into himself. He’s our longest stay resident by a long way. 💔Since moving into a foster home, he’s really found his feet - he’s rediscovered his love for playing and has become even more affectionate. He rolls onto his side, closes his eyes and loves every moment of being cuddled.

Sadly his fosterer is unable to look after him after Monday. 😢

We’re dearly hoping that with the power of facebook we can find Bobby a forever home, so he doesn’t have to go back into the cattery.

Do you know anyone who’s looking for a friendly feline friend and lifelong companion? Cats can live into their twenties, so at 9 Bobby is by no means old but he’s mature enough to know when he’s found a good thing - so we’re sure that when the right home comes along he’ll be such a wonderful friend and his adopter will wonder what they did before he arrived! 🥰

🐾 Please make all Bobby’s 9 birthday (and Christmas) wishes come true and apply to adopt him: https://www.cats.org.uk/findacatform/?b=420&ncid=29495

Even if you’re not able to adopt at the moment, please share his post to help him find a home. He deserves it so much.

Thank you 🙏

Tinkerbell is quite a rare dilute tortoiseshell beauty! She has lived happily with Henry for the last 8 years - he idolises her. He loves to touch noses with her and give her little head bumps - sometimes they seem so content with each other it’s like they’re lost in kitty conversation. Maybe they’re discussing who has the most beautiful fur! ♥️

They like to be as close to each other as possible (at all times!) and sometimes squeeze into the fort together to share it rather than sit in separate beds! Very occasionally Tinks will suggest Henry gets his own snooze spot but mostly she doesn’t mind! 😂

Both Tinkerbell and Henry enjoy company and Tinkerbell in particular is very affectionate and loving.

🗺️ They came to us as their owner is going travelling and they dearly hope it’s not long before someone chooses them and they embark on their own adventure and find a new family to call their own.

Could you offer Henry and Tinkerbell the ultimate Christmas present and offer them the gift of a forever home? 💝

🐾 Apply to adopt Tinkerbell and Henry by completing their application form: https://www.cats.org.uk/findacatform/?b=420&ncid=37303

Our mature cats can sometimes take a little longer to find a home so please share their post to hopefully keep their wait to a minimum. 🥰🤞🏻

Thank you 🙏

Tonight we bring you a magical 🧙 happy home update from one of our Harry Potter kittens who was abandoned outside our charity shop in Headingley. Her adopters decided to stick with an ‘S’ name and changed her name from Slytherin to Sushi. ♥️ By the looks of this photo she’s a very happy girl indeed and is so happy that her new family chose her.

Here’s a little update from them:

“Sushi has settled in great, loves a good cuddle or to play with bouncy and scrunchy toys. She has grown so much already.”

Thank you so much to Sushi’s adopters for letting us know how she’s been getting on. We’re sure she has many magical adventures still to share with them now she’s found her forever family. ✨

We…wish you a tabby Christmas! 🎄 it’s very rare for us to have such an array of tabby cats on the website. They’re normally snapped up just as quickly as they’re added! From tiny Fizz, found all alone close to a motorway, to more mature Milly - there’s a tabby beauty for everyone:

🐾 Thomas was found in a terrible state with a swollen nose and a sore eye. 😢 Despite his ordeal he’s never been anything other than a purrfect gentleman who’s always so pleased to see you and loves his cuddles: https://www.cats.org.uk/findacatform/?b=420&ncid=37500

🐾 Henry and Tinkerbell are an incredibly sweet pair who enjoy company and will make someone wonderful friends: https://www.cats.org.uk/findacatform/?b=420&ncid=37304
