A very cold day at West Yorkshire WPCA ridden show, to kick of the start of the autumn shows!

Attended his second ridden show and we are so proud of him! Held his own in a busy, if not slightly chaotic novice large breeds class and coped amazingly in a busy warm up too! Feeling much more relaxed and settling into the job beautifully. It’s all about the little wins with this boy and I’ve done nothing but smile on him today!

As the qualifiers close, the last of the cattle shows come to an end and we head into youngstock & novice season (secretly my favourite time of year) we can’t help but reflect on what a fabulous summer season we have all had!

Been a little quiet on this page as with so much going on it’s been hard to keep track of everything! But we are back and will make our best efforts to keep you all up to date.

We have had some exciting new arrivals on the pony side, some come, some gone, some here for next season! And not to mention our very own special little chap! Some fabulous results (too many to list)!

Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the past few months, for what was once an idea is now my full time job & our whole lifestyle I am proud of everything we have achieved.

I have attached some pictures of a preview of the last few months…..
We look forward to what the future has to bring and our exciting new additions!

A real promising young heifer, her showing debut was a success! Fantastic comments from the judge and spectators on this girl, so we are excited for what is to come!

Royal Welsh 2024🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Builth you have our hearts and we will be back. Our first ever trip down to the Welsh and it truly is the best show in the country!
What a spectacle of the best Welsh ponies in the country all on one show ground.

Finally got chance to take our very own Gwenside Aphrodite out who took to the main ring beautifully. She really is so sensible and wise beyond her years. All the best aspects for a ridden pony.

Probably the last show she will do this year, as we will now start preparing her for a ridden career although no rush, Rome wasn’t built in a day!

Just a small team, chasing the dream❤️
Finally had time to reflect on the past few days and think about how lucky we are to do what we do and have the ponies we have.

Tried his little heart out in a 35+ strong class of coloured ponies on Tuesday in what can only be described as the most horrific weather I have ever ridden in at a show! we are absolutely over the moon with how he is looking and going. Whilst we have only been together a short time there is always room for improvements, but he’s a pleasure to have around and we are looking forward to our future.

This little mare exceeded all our expectations today, thrown in the deep end on only her 3rd ridden show but we wanted nothing more than a picture and she behaved impeccably. Stood in a long line up and went out to do a lovely sweet show with nice comments from the ride judge!

Brierdene Maybe Magic owned by Janine Aldred
We just love this pony! A character and he has been a star especially having been stabled over on the show ground for the first time. Him and Harry were 4th today in the 2/3 A c**ts. Lots to work on but a new partnership and excited to see them both out a little more over the summer.

Oh zimba, our best boy! 2nd & Reserve champion HOYS small breeds today. For all the hard work you may be, days like today remind me to be persistent if you believe in something. No matter how long it takes, or how hard it may be! All we have ever wanted is to bring this boy to the Yorkshire. And we have done it!!

Now if you had told me this time last year that I’d have all this wonderful ponies, our own yard, the most fantastic owners and I’d be riding ponies full time I’d have probably laughed and thought it was a joke, Harry Blockley I could not do any of this without you!

Thank you Charlotte for your help on the yard, Lois Dickie for grooming for me today and mum,dad & auntie Mel for coming to watch me today! Also to every single person who has commented, messaged, text, I appreciate every message!

Could not have asked any more from these two! Harry did a fantastic job showing him and Tyson behaved beautifully.

Malton show🐮

Last Sunday we went to malton show with just two beasts on board for a relaxing day out.

Southfield Viper- 1st & Reserve champion any other native.
Southfield Xara - 3rd any other native maiden heifer.

Just one more show to go this weekend before the chaos of our favourite week of the year the GREAT YORKSHIRE SHOW🫶🏻

What a fantastic day we had at Huby and Sutton Agricultural Society Show 2024 on Sunday! So enjoyable to be able to take some of the newbies out to our Local Agricultural show.

An educational day for young Brian and a chance for us all to get to know each other a bit better in a show environment. He was impeccably behaved on the box most of the day and showed real promise in the ring.

Thrown in the deep end at her second ridden show, in a big, busy open class, to hold her own. So proud of how she performed and whilst room for improvements a lot lot better than the last time.

What an amazing few days!

Starting off with Cheshire county show on Wednesday, a morning I would never have expected in a million years! Bunbury Zimba 2nd HOYS Bs then forward to take RESERVE CHAMPION HOYS small breeds! Definitely a morning to remember!

We the trucked on to Lincolnshire County Show and we stayed consistent with a 4th in the HOYS Bs! Super proud of this pony on his first open season.

He has a few weeks rest now before heading to The Great Yorkshire show but in the meantime we’ve some other shows planned both with cattle and ponies👏🏻

This weekend kicked started one of the busiest weeks of the showing year with a trip to Royal Three Counties show, where Bunbury Zimba performed beautifully to bag himself a 3rd in the HOYS section b qualifier, he’s really starting to knock on the door of that golden ticket, especially as he was only one mark behind 2nd!

Last week we also welcomed Brierdene maybe magic to the team, a 3yr old c**t owned by Janine Aldred. We are looking forward to seeing him and Harry together in the ring!

This coming week Harry will be at Lincolnshire county show with cattle where I will join him on after a trip to Royal Cheshire county show! And we will finish the week with a trip to our local agricultural show with some special ponies on board and hopefully an enjoyable day out!

We have had a fabulous morning North Western Association of the Welsh Pony and Cob Society 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Brierdene maybe magic 3yr old colt Owned by Janine Aldred This boy put on a mega show to stand 3rd, a little disappointed as he looked and went phenomenal! But onto the next. He’s our pot of tea everyday! Willowvale Royal Rebel 2yr old colt Owned and bred by Becki Warner Pulled top in the Ds however dropped to second after adding his own extra moves into his show. Never the less he performed and looked the part! Cubadale cavalier Yearling b colt Owned and bred by Helen Warrington Little Larry’s first ever show and what a star he was! 2nd in the yearling bs and taking everything in his stride. Loading, travelling and then going out and performing was a lot to ask this little chap but he was super! Harry Blockley I say it time and time again, you do a mega job with the ponies in the ring and you make me so proud❤️❤️ Over the moon with how all the ponies looked and went. Proud to have them all in our stables💪🏻❤️
