This is 14 year old Echo working on improving joint mobility, balance and proprioception because her age and condition (OA) have made her a bit wobbly and unstable.

I use a combination of

💚LASER therapy- for providing relief to arthritic joints through its anti-inflammatory and cellular healing effects

💚TENS therapy - for pain relief

💚NMES- for maintaining muscle mass

💚Exercise prescription- I have a variety of canine conditioning equipment for improving whole body function! Muscles, joints, balance, co-ordination; specially tailored to your pet and their problem areas.

💚Massage- to improve tissue health, reduce stiffness and make your pet feel amazing!

Whether your 🐶/🐴 is getting older, has a known condition or injury or is otherwise fine but would like to make sure they’re in top shape!

Hindlimb fracture & Hernia recovery
❤️‍🩹 Getting a 3.5 month old puppy to relax into treatment was a challenge
• but once she realised how good it felt she was all sleepy

The main goal for Jeena now is strengthening of the hamstrings on the affected leg and reducing secondary compensatory muscle pain from the opposing leg that has been taking the weight. Balancing out muscle asymmetries, reducing pain and building strength 💪🏼in a fun and engaging way for a pup!

No training aids just an engaged core and a relaxed dorsal chain😍 Spud also showed some good releases which I managed capture in the last video *on instagram post* (licking and chewing)

From watching him move before and after I can see that the tape noticeably increased his proprioception and range of motion but…
I took before and after videos to computer analyse and will post the results. I like working on horses because there is no placebo effects, if it works, it works!

I would have liked to tape both sides but sadly I ran out of tape🥲

Today’s kinesiology taping applications
1. An area of the brachiocephalicus muscle (bottom neck) is taped on spud because he has hypertonicity (tension) in this area. *Ideally would have taped the muscle from origin to insertion and placed additional decompression points over the affected area but I didn’t have enough tape 😞

2. Thoracic sling / shoulder fascia taping- for increasing range of motion in the shoulder and proprioception of the thoracic limb (forelimb)

3. Lumbosacral tape- soreness at the lumbosacral junction is common in horses. Applying decompression to this area can relieve that pain promoting better movement from behind
