I completed my qualifications in dog grooming in 2021, at Brooksby Melton College. Since then, I've been gradually building my business whilst also setting up my grooming cabin in our back garden, which is now READY!
Very excited to meet all your lovely little pups and give them the relaxing grooming experience they deserve 💛🐶

Well, that's it!
My first competition is done.
I am so so proud of Maisie for being an absolute angel all day. She seemed to really enjoy herself! 🥰

And although I didn't place, it was a really fantastic experience - so wonderful to see all the different grooms!

Maisie is looking and smelling fabulous now, with her new Houndsly Pet Products perfume on (a late birthday present 🐶). She just needs a bit of colour 😉

My beautiful little munchkin Maisie has been on this earth for 6 whole people years today! 🥺

I know she's going to make me very proud at The Grooming Show tomorrow, hopefully I can make her look super pretty!

Matting on the ends of the ears really restricts blood flow and can result in hematomas - causing this bleeding from the tips of the ears 😢

Remember, when you're brushing your pups you need to pay particular attention to the ears, armpits, groin and tail as these are areas that often get overlooked but can become matted very easily.
And if your pooch doesn't like the brushing, turn it into a game! A few minutes of brushing and combing in exchange for a tasty treat or some play time - and then with practice you can gradually increase the time spent brushing as your pup becomes more comfortable.

It’s so so important to make sure you brush your dog, if they don’t like it gradually do it in baby steps. Reward them and praise them❤️
Taking special care under the arm pits, feet legs, behind ears, back end, tail and ears. Not just on top of body as Youl find these places are easy to get matted if not brushed properly. With severe matting on the ears, an ear hematoma can develop - the swelling of the dogs ear flaps due to filling up with blood. Mats restrict blood flow to the area of the body that it covers. The lack of blood flow weakens the skin causing it to be thinner and more likely to tear or bleed
