Matted dogs..pretty much any groomer that has worked for a while will have to groom dogs in this condition, and sadly quite frequently. As you can see the first couple of photo's show what looks like a soft unmatted coat, the next 2 photo's are the same bits of coat but after they have been clipped off! Solid matting underneath. So many owners think they are doing a good job brushing but they are just brushing the top of the coat. You really need to follow with a comb to get down to the skin and you should be able to part the hair and see skin. It's a great idea to check with a professional groomer occasionally even if you groom at home, just to make sure you're not missing any tricky to reach areas.

So after more than 10 years my little salon has closed, not just for Christmas but for good as we're moving to pastures new - Cornwall - in the New Year. It was lovely to have 11 year old Alfie as my last customer, as he was my first as a puppy!
I'd like to thank all my customers, the more recent and previous customers, for your support over the years. I don't plan to start grooming in Cornwall (although never say never...), depending on what property we end up with (are renting initially), I have considered doing occasional dog day care, for people who have their dog with them on holiday but would like a dog free day. So keep following if you may be heading that way with your pooch in the future.

We have agility places available on a Thursday and a Saturday during the daytime at our venue in Broughton Astley.

Places are allocated on a permanent basis so the place is yours until
you decide that you no longer want it. An hours group lesson costs £8
per dog payable four weekly, in advance. Your dog should be over 10
months old, be good with other dogs and people and have a good
understanding of basic commands including an excellent recall and the
ability to work off lead around other dogs without distraction.
