Off to meet my very first doggy client today! 🐾🐾

I’ve been wanting to change direction for a few years now and this has always been in the back of my mind.
I grew up in the small village of Wigginton and am a country girl by heart. I’ve been to Oaklands agricultural college where I learnt about all kinds of animals. I worked as a dairy maid and also spent many years riding horses for friends.
All the years I spent as a kennel maid I remember with such fondness. It was primarily a boarding kennels, with spaces for over 50 dogs at any one time. Along with that, they also had a cattery which house around 30.
Add into the mix their own dogs, 6 Newfoundlands, a Great Dane, 3 Maremma sheepdogs, a German Shepard and 20 Tibetan Terriers!
All these had to be feed, mostly once a day but a large number twice, all dogs had to be mucked out daily and their own dogs all had to be bathed and groomed on a rotating system. This is what my duties were.

I feel I’ve had the most incredible experience to take with me in this new venture.

It’s always exciting setting up a new business. From today I am now fully insured…..

Good evening everyone!

My name is Emma.

After 30 years of working as a cleaner, I've decided I'm going to slowly hang up my dusters and go back to my roots of working with animals. This won't be an immediate thing but I will gradually transfer my work from one to another, keeping on a few of my favourite clients.

I spent 4 years whilst at school and another 7 years after I left working as a kennel maid, along side my other job as a dairy maid. During all those years I gained experience of almost all breeds, from Chihuahua's to Irish Wolf Hounds. It was whilst doing this that my love for Newfoundlands came about, as the kennels bred them.

In the past 30 years I have owned 6 Newfies, along side a Labrador, German Shepard, 2 Old English Sheep Dogs, a Spaniel and not forgetting the old heinz variety "Pip" who we had for 15 years growing up at home.

I'm hoping to be up and running, with necessary insurances etc by the first week of April but in the meantime please share amongst your friends and let them know that I'm looking for customers who would like me to walk their dogs, either as an occasional thing or with a regular slot.

Thank you everyone!
