Between the horse’s ears, they will see alot more from this corner of the field.
This has been a very long awaited project, not helped by the weather over the past 2 years.

This weekend we were XC at Flamstead Pony Club field. The ground was perfect, the weather was kind and the jumping excellent. The Flamstead team have done an amazing job at revamping and improving their XC course, with many new fences, including a roped off mini course.
I am there again on 21st July if anyone would like some coaching, private or group of 4-5
Please pm me

Because of the horse, I see so much more of life and nature. Sometimes it’s good to take a breath and appreciate what nature gives us. After a very busy 3 days, I’m taking a chill pill. It’s sooo quiet up here with Sparky, our mascot ❤️🖤💛❤️🖤💛

Well they only went and flippin’ did it!
First time out BS in 10 years, first time out competing in 18 months, and first open water tray in the Foxhunter.
What a team!
The judges were equally surprised to see the return of a horse after a 10 year sabbatical, that they quizzed Francesca Ryde to see where Der Kaiser had been for 10 years; Well intermediate & 3* eventing of course! What a dude!

Wishing Charlie aka Der Kaiser a very Happy 16th Birthday. He is still as sassy and happy as the day we bought him, 11 years ago this autumn, as a five year old.
A horse that loves and lives life to the full. Everyday is a new day, and as such, every new day is as exciting as the last, whatever it may bring. He is the most incredible horse for both Frederick and Francesca. A full on character, big personality, heart of gold, and very special friend.
Happy Birthday sweet 16. ❤️🖤💛❤️🖤💛
He shares his birthdate with Beanish, aka Special Addition our late, legendary home bred stallion in a million. Another with a heart of gold, a temprament to die for, a real trier, sire of many a successful horses. His legacy lives on. ❤️🖤💛❤️🖤💛

I think this dressage writer must be a doctor looking at the writing! 🤣 Is there anyone who is able to decipher it for me please?
I really think that dressage writers should have reached a specific standard of being able to write quickly and abbreviate, so it is readable. How is a rider expected to improve on their marks, if they can’t read the writing!
It’s not cheap entering these events, which was beautifully ran, on fantastic ground, and I totally appreciate it is not cheap to run such events, especially to the standard of this one; but come on guys, it’s dressage writing (and yes I have done dressage writing)

Looking between my horses ears, the weather is finally warming up,; I'll go with April showers, that's par for course; and the ground is finally drying out, so I guess you are all itching to get there and have some fun!
We were at Milton Keynes XC last week, the ground was perfect and it was a good excuse (not that he really needs one) for Charlie to kick away the winter cobwebs.
I shall be running clinics and private lessons, so watch this space.
If there is something specific you want and a date, please do let me know.

Good to be back out, and see these guys in action, alive and kickin’ ❤️🖤💛❤️💛

The two Special brothers, Special Addiction (Joey) and Special Craft (Moet), letting off some of that TB speed. What a game! It was like that, on and off for 3 hours! The TB’s never seem to tire (glad I Re clipped Joey yesterday!)

It was another busy weekend for the Saturday group at the lovely Fox Farm, Little Brickhill.
Moet seems to have grown springs, he is loving his jumping! Charlie, as always when he is jumping, was on cloud 9, Millie and Lacey were off to a competitive party straight after the session, but still showed a good turn of hoof over some bigger spreads and Karen just keeps on coming, her confidence knows no bounds!

Fair play to this awesome group of equestrians who, once again came out to play in the wettest of rains today. The surface was amazing at Georgie Dalton’s!
There were some very big steps made and lots of ground covered, considering the weather!
I have chosen some of the more ‘unusual’ shots, thanks again to Lorraine Benesch photography.
Riding is all about balance, a partnership with ones horse. Sometimes things don’t go to plan and a rider’s position may be compromised, whilst remaining in balance and harmony with the horse, and still be effective.

Another successful morning on a cross country field. Three weeks, three sessions and the confidence and goals keep growing. Probably our last XC session on grass this season, as the nights draw in and the ground gets too saturated.
Next week we start on show jumping and grids.
Love this team of wonderful young ladies (you don't stop riding when when you get old Karen Maslin, you get old when you stop riding, so yes, I have included you 😀)
I have to thank the wonderful support crew for these fantastic photos (of which there are many more)

Last week and this week we have very much focused between the ears of Moet (Special Craft) ably ridden by Amelie, his new jockey and their party/support crew of Karen Maslin and Millie, although this week we were also joined by Francesca Ryde on Charlie (their first party this year but did a handsome job of ‘nannying’ Moet)

This weekend has all been viewed between Wilman’s ears, and I couldn’t be more proud!
Those that know me from way back, know dressage was not my forte, but not only have I found my new dancing partner, he has excelled.
On the bucket list was dressage to music, a private challenge was to get 70%.
Well we finished the season, with a 2nd placing at the Bury Farm freestyle dressage to music championships (elementary) with 73.65%, the standard was very high! Wilman danced his hooves off, I couldn’t be more proud.
And just when I thought I was done for, the following day we had the British Riding Club regional dressage qualifiers.
Wilman came out and he produced the goods again with a 2nd in the elementary and, possible qualifier for the Winter Championships plus we upped our game to ride our first medium test, to come a very credible 3rd ❤️🖤💛❤️🖤💛
I think we can start to assume I may becoming a dressage diva !🤣🤣❤️🖤💛🏆🥂🍾

It’s been another full on weekend of ponies. Friday we picked up Moet, who has been based with the Michaela Tomlinson, for training over the past 6 months.
Sunday saw Wilman and I win my first ever sash, winning the elementary dressage and a good second place in the DTM Championships.
Monday was Joey’s early morning start; unseasonable warm but perfect going, you wont find a more genuine, generous mount than Joey.
Just Charlie now who needs a party (think he was quite happy with Francesca jumping him the field and then a good canter the following day - but not quite the same as an away day party)

There were lots of different views between the horses ears this weekend.
Saturday saw us with 2nd’s in Elementary & DTM with very good high 60 % scores on Wilman.
Sunday we had a fantastic XC coaching session at Rosehill. Ground was perfect, fences beautifully maintained and ponies and children were all flying.
Sunday evening saw me ‘facing my fears’ with vaulting. This was only my second session but so different to my conventional riding career to date. Hats of to the vaulters and their beautifully trained horses.
If you need coaching or support facing your fears, pm me. I am an Accredited Professional Coach with the British Horse Society. I have insurance, first aid DBS, I safeguarding and regular CPD training.

So, as the last of the children trickle back to the new academic school year, I can hear a sigh of relief from parents of pony mad children, and even the pony themselves. After 6+ weeks of full-on fun and frolics with friends and families, there is finally some down time.
Give it a week, possibly two and you’ll be missing that hub of activity and will so will the ponies! For some, whilst there are daylight hours, they may get an hour or two at the stables, but for others, homework, after school clubs etc will take priority, and what of you, the parent/guardian?
We do amazing things for our children, we run-around like headless chickens. Why? Not just because we love them, but we kind of love the lifestyle and friendships too that are brought on by our equestrian friends, the ponies, and their extended family human friends. So, whilst it is now fairly quite during school hours, have you ever thought about having your own time with the ponies. Most ponies could take light exercise with an adult. You have seen and shared the fun (from the ground) all summer, isn’t it time you had a go?
Instead of meeting for a coffee, have some pony time. It will give the ponies some valuable human time and help keep them and you fitter.
I do private 1:1 or group lessons at your own yard or venue. Join up with your friends and share the fun of doing poles, experience the elation of jumping fences or maybe have a play at games.
I am a former international 5* event rider and have over 30 years’ experience in teaching and coaching all ages and abilities. I love seeing and helping others have fun, achieving their goals, pushing their boundaries, and learning new skills.

As the sun sets on another glorious final day of Burghley Horse Trials, I can honestly say, Burghley is my all time favourite event.
Having first competed there in 1991, and another 4 occasions after that, with the exception of the Covid years, when it didn’t run, I have never missed a visit.
Summer is now officially over and an Autumnal Indian summer follows.
So many memories, so many friendships, new and old.
I’ll be back again next year.
❤️🖤💛❤️🖤

Between the horse’s ears today was dressage to music. A tick list off the bucket list.
Wilman did not disappoint! We both love his music and it would appear so does the judge and audience 😁.
In the words of Arnie ‘we’ll be back’ bigger and better ❤️🖤💛❤️🖤💛
