I've been doing few back scans recently for owners that want a different perspective on the health of their horses back. Best of all is working with local vets and other professionals to maximise the best outcome for the horse. Thermal imaging is a really useful tool in the process of detecting where is issues are then it's over to the other professionals for either further diagnostics or treatment.

It's not all about the hotspots! Cooler regions are also an indicator of an underlying issue. It alerts us to the fact that something that isn't functioning as it should. It can mean a neurological issue, scar tissue, fluid swellings and muscle groups not working correctly.
In this case, one of the issues was the horse being much weaker on the right hind. This image clearly shows a much 'cooler' pattern in the muscles of the hindquarters. My job is to identify the abnormalities then it's (in this case) down to the vets to diagnose the cause.
