Apologies for any missed messages, I've been struggling with my mental health so had to take a step back for a short while.
I'll do my best to catch up over the next few days x

We have some lovely syr1an hamsters looking for forever families. Most are around 4 months old, and another is 1 year old.
Not nasty at all, but are nervous. It's taken them a month to be brave enough to be hand fed treats but are progressing quite quickly now.
Small adoption fee and set up check applies.
Cages must be 100 x 50cm minimum ❤️

FAIRLY URGENT - WE NEED TRANSPORT HELP!
Can anyone at all help to transport a bird from Liverpool to Lincoln LN2 please?
We are hoping to do a small relay so multiple people meet at different destinations to help get the bird to us as the owner really needs to rehome the bird as soon as possible but want to make the journey as stress free as possible for them.

Unfortunately our fuel funds are too low currently to do the whole journey there and back, and we are so busy with rehab that we honestly don't have the time to travel there ourselves anyway.
If anyone can help at all please give us a message, we are happy to meet somewhere for the final part of the journey. Currently waiting to see if the owners can help with the start of the journey too😊
Thank you xx

MISSING CAT - SCOPWICK

I've just seen a friend post about this little one so hoping our page can help get the word out. Any sighting at all please don't hesitate to contact Tracy Summerson on the Next Door app.
I find it very strange such a recognisable cat has gone missing, if you know of anyone who has recently gotten a Bengal please consider this little one just incase it's him.

Please share and keep an eye out, really hope he comes back home soon❤️

To add, the owner has been to see the recently spotted Bengal on Lincoln high Street, unfortunately it's not him :(

Urgent! And fairly niche!
Do we have anyone here who is Boston way that understands washing machines? 🤣
We've had a poor man message after finding a snake in his top floor flat that has now gotten cosy behind the washing machine!
As you can imagine, not everyone wants a free roaming snake, especially uninvited!

If anyone could help us, please give us a message, we will give the snake a space here with us once contained but unfortunately just can't get there tonight! X

Hi guys! Over the next few weeks I'll be doing my best to catch up on anything ive missed - there are quite a few messages we haven't been able to check so if you still need us please bump the message.
I've been struggling with my health a little extra recently, so I'm not in a position to be taking in any wildlife for a short while.
We have a few different animals coming up to being ready for their new families so please keep your eyes peeled for them ❤️
We are still here, just had to take a bit of astep back and have a break for a while x

Let's talk hamsters❤️
This post may seem harsh, but with recent intakes we're feeling very downhearted to see that hamsters are still not receiving the absolute basics they need and deserve.

Hamsters need a minimum of 100x50x50cm cages as per Blue Cross guidelines - All reputable hamster rescues will require this for the welfare of the hamster. Extra layers of a cage unfortunately doesn't make up for cage space as they need length rather than height.

They need a good diet, a high quality hamster food, they're omnivorous so eat both plant and animal based foods. More information can be found on the blue cross, I will add the link at the end.

They need dust extracted bedding to help protect their tiny respiratory systems - A speck of dust is much bigger to them than it is to us!

Different species of hamsters need different sized wheels to avoid spinal pain.
They need enrichment, time, love and for many rescue hamsters, patience.

And finally, ALL hamster species are solitary. They shouldn't cohabit at all. They may seem fine for a short while but fights are inevitable and injuries are highly likely. Not to mention that it is very stressful for the hamsters themselves to cohabit. Hamsters are easily missexed as babies too, and can end up with pregnancies. Guess what we're dealing with currently from a recent rescue🙃

Please remember, hamsters are living beings just like us. If we agree to take them on we should be there advocate and provide the absolute best for them because they can't do it themselves.

Thank you again for your support, we wouldn't have been able to do this recent rescue without you all.
I added a second photo as I think it speaks for itself :( ❤️

Can anyone local to Lincoln help with fostering rats please? We've had a message about some rats needing a fairly urgent rescue space but we just don't have enough space for the amount needing it. Multiple foster homes may be needed x

Well last year we were full of hamsters, the year before it was rabbits.. this year seems to be guinea pigs!!
We've had 3 boys join us tonight, one pair and one lone boar.
We are looking for more foster homes as the pressure keeps on building on rescues to take more and more rabbits and guinea pigs. Please message us if you can help with this.

Piggy's will be posted once settled and happy but have a quarantine time to pass before being available.
We do have a pair of boars now ready for their forever family if anyone is looking too!
We follow RWAF housing guidelines. X

As we get nearer to Easter I feel the need to put a reminder out.
PLEASE don't get your children rabbits for Easter if you are not willing to care for them yourselves and spend money on vaccinations, neutering, feed, bedding, vet trips etc.
Rabbits are classed as exotic animals and they are NOT cheap! Believe me, we know😅
A hutch is no where near enough, they need neutered and vaccinated friends and a minimum of 6ft by 10ft of space at all times.

Rescues are in crisis right now, this is currently the worst it has ever been for rabbit rescues especially and we are only in March💔

The same of course applies for guinea pigs and chickens around Easter.

Please share this with anyone who is considering getting a rabbit for their child. We're more than happy to break down costs and their needs to anyone who may not know so far so they know just how much of a commitment a rabbit is when kept correctly.

Happy Easter everyone❤️xx

😔🐇The awful disease Myxomatosis...🐇😔
‼️We have unfortunately seen an increase in cases of myxomatosis in wild rabbits in the last few days‼️
The areas they have been found were Coningsby and Kirkby on Bain. Due to the nature of the disease, it is likely there'll be quite a few more affected rabbits.😔

‼️Signs include‼️
- reluctance to move
- swollen shut eyes
- discharge from the nose and eyes
- difficulty breathing

⚠️If you come across a rabbit that you suspect has myxomatosis, please contact us with a photo before touching the rabbit.⚠️
If we suspect myxomatosis, we will talk you through how to contain the rabbit and where to take it. More often than not, the kindest option is to euthanase. It is a horrible, horrible disease that can bring great suffering.😭
