Not the start to January that we wanted 😢, sadly we lost Reggie this morning. He has been with us for over 8 years. The first picture is when he arrived with us, he was completely skin and bone along with his brother Ronnie, the vet advised us to have them put to sleep as they said they wouldn't recover. Well they both proved everyone wrong. We arent only a rehoming rescue but we are also a sanctuary to rabbits who would otherwise be put to sleep. Reggie was loved until the very end and we will miss his cheeky character. 🐇 🪽

Happy new year everyone, there will be some updates coming soon regarding some new rabbits at the rescue, but first we are looking for somebody to become our fundraising / event co-ordinator. Do you have some spare time and would like to help us raise vital funds for the rescue. If so, please do get in touch. With us both working full time we just don't have the time to run the social media side of things to raise money via auctions etc. Let us know if you would be interested. 🐇

Our last intake of the year is this cheeky little chap, he's arrived from Runcorn via Bunny Angels after being found as a stray. Luckily the vets have vaccinated him and neutered him for us, so he'll be ready for his forever home in the new year.
Unfortunately, the dumping of rabbits has already begun and we've been made aware of at least 12 'stray' rabbits so far and that's before the New Year dumpings begin.

Hope everyone has an amazing Christmas, we've had one hell of a year. We will update you in the New Year with some rabbits and guinea pigs that will be up for adoption as our adoption enquiries are closed now until next year.

We are going away after Christmas for a much needed break but we will still be replying to messages it just may take a bit longer to get back to you than normal so please be patient. 🎄 🎅

Sadly, Tilly lost her battle last night, we are beyond devastated, she was born at the rescue 8 and a half years ago and was definitely a character and leaves behind her very upset sister.
Her final vet bill has come to £574 this will include her being cremated and brought back home to us. 🕊

Not the news we wanted today, one of our resident buns Tilly has been diagnosed with cancer, she will be on palliative care for the rest of her days with us. 😢
Her vet bill today has come to £330 if anybody could help towards her vet bills it would be really appreciated.

We are pleased to announce that we are now an official rescue partner of Bunny Angels. We have been helping and supporting Bunny Angels for over a year now but it's now official that we are an approved rescue. 🐇
Bunny Angels are an amazing group of people and rescues and we are proud to be working with them to rescue bunnies in need.

One of our sanctuary buns; Donald who is 10 years old had a massive dental operation yesterday, he's had his teeth burred and 2 removed along with 2 abscesses. Unfortunately he crashed on the operating table, thankfully the amazing team at Penbode Vets managed to bring him back. He is now recovering at home after spending the night in the vets, we have everything crossed he'll make a full recovery, unfortunately hes not really eating on his own yet. This is what the rabbit crisis is all about 😢 please support your local rescue if you can, whether that's by volunteering your time, sending monetary donations for vet bills or by buying bits from their Amazon wishlist anything you can do really does help.

This morning we received a call to say around 100 rabbits have been dumped in the woods in Chaddersly Corbet and luckily 56 were caught and secured in a lovely couples shed.

We have taken in 16 males and 40 females who we suspect are pregnant and they are all in a bad way. We are a small rescue run from Heathers home by a small team of 4 of us.

All of these rabbits at a minimum will need neutering/spaying and vaccinating.

We will do a more in-depth post later for now we are focusing on the bunnies and trying to work out a plan.

We have updated our wish list with things that can help and I have put our PayPal details below if anyone can donate to our foreseeable vet bill.

Up for adoption! 2 female guinea pigs approximately 4 years old, these 2 are bonded so we will be looking for an indoor home for these girls. Please get in touch if you think you could be a suitable match.

Blu is looking for his forever home, he's not currently at the rescue but the usual home checks and adoption fees apply. He's 18 months old, has been neutered and is vaccinated. He is an indoor rabbit who does go outside in nice weather. If you think you could offer Blu a home or would like some more information then please do get in touch.

🐇 Hoppy National Rabbit Day! 🐇
